069. who knew there was so much to say about yarn

Here is our second July podcast -- I talk a little bit about some day-to-day happenings, and some cool opportunities, but the majority of this episode is just me gushing about yarn and crochet and knitting. It's been taking up a lot of space in my brain recently, so you'll have to forgive me hahah.
These are all the patterns I mentioned:
- the Ursa and Ursina sweaters; and the Cottage cardigan by Jacqueline Cieslak
- the Jilly Cardigan and the Hattie Tee by Holly Woodward (also, here is that granny stripe cardigan I mentioned, as well as those two wrap tops)
- I'm So Basic Socks by Summer Lee (this pattern is free!!)
- Petite Knits -- this is that one designer with just gorgeous designs that are maybe a little too advanced for me right now
- Puffin yarn from Quince and Co. -- their whole site is gorgeous, all the yarn looks incredible
- and Brooklyn Tweed yarn!! The colorways *u*

And here is a photo of the scrap blanket! As well as the tutorial I'm following for it. :o)
So, the idea is you work in strips -- I'll probs add a few more inches to this strip, and then start on the next one by connecting it at the bottom to the green and then working my way up again. No seaming necessary, and barely any ends to weave in !! :D And I can use up those tiny bits of scrap yarn, and it winds up in a cool patchwork effect. I really like it and am excited to see it grow~

I loved all of the yarn talk! As a fellow fiber artist with ADHD, I have the exact same problem of getting overrun with WIPs. I try not to worry about it too much, bc I know I usually end up circling back to them eventually, and if not you can always unravel them! Also when you do finally have the motivation to do the last finishing steps you get the satisfaction of finishing like 4 projects in an hour 😊

If you're looking for a great PetiteKnit pattern to start with I can heavily recommend her terrazzo neck pattern! It's quicker to knit up than a full garment, it teaches you about how to create a neckhole, and letting stitches rest/ picking up and creating new stitches and the final result is so warm and useful! I've worn mine the entire winter :D
