february sketch and WIP tour!!
🕑 Added 2023-02-28 23:39:54 +0000 UTCWOOOOO by the skin of my teeth, here is Feb's sketch and WIP tour!! I've decided that since I've really really REALLY been leaning more into my fiber arts pursuits as of late, these little sketchbook tours will now include my fave/the more interesting of my knit & crochets WIPs (or maybe even finished projects!!)
I have a little blurb under each project giving some details, and I'll include the patterns I'm following here:
- Sophie Scarf from PetiteKnit -- I actually JUST finished this today!! It's a bit wonky, but I finished it!! Which is the most important thing. :o) It's also not really my style I've realized?? At least not the color, so I'll be gifting this to a friend once it gets off the blocking boards. :3 I did just buy the Sophie Shawl pattern so I can make a much bigger version of this little neckerchief. First I gotta see if my local yarn shop has any more skeins of the yarn I got for the scarf version...
- Basic Knit Sweater Vest from Ashley Lillis -- I've just gotta add the ribbing on this, which is proving difficult cause I definitely made my bind offs a bit too tight >:( but I gotta finish it!!
- Vest No.26 from Daisy and Peace -- This is a sweater vest I'm making for my mom for Mother's Day :3 It uses the yarn over slip stitch, which is rather fiddly but looks so good and knit-like!
- One Skein Granny Rows Scarf from Sweet Bee Crochet -- I got a stunning cake of Noro yarn in this lovely pastel rainbow color way, so I'm using a simpler pattern to show off the beautiful colors!! It also is a very thick/thin yarn, so the simpler stitch helps to make sure that the changing thickness isn't too much of an issue.
I've got some other projects in my bags, but one is literally a scarf made out of half double crochets, and the other I've only done 3 rows on so there's not much to show lol. I've found I really like making scarves?? They're just so easy and a good way to use up a lot of yarn. I've also been making gifts for my castmates in an effort to use up my yarn stash, since I'm moving in two months and don't want to move ALL my yarn ;;
And then there's a handful of digital and traditional sketches!! I remembered that I'm actually rather close to finishing my larger RENDR sketchbook, maybe 20 pages or so out? Maybe that'll be the thing I need to get me back into a drawing routine.
I hope y'all are well! I'll be recording the strawberry podcast here shortly as well. Sorry I've been so MIA -- theatre tends to devour my life, which I seem to always forget between projects, lmao. I hope you've had a nice February!

My eyes went โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐ when I saw the pastel rainbow sweater! I donโt know why but I have reaaaally been digging that color palette lately. Actually, it may have started when I made a pastel rainbow lanyard at the end of the year. I guess it just never went away lol. Anywho, lovelovelove the colors and the stitching! The thick and thin is very visually interesting. Double kudos to you!
