The streets weren’t because so many had been taken. - weren't what?

Aris T.

LOL

Mike Naka

Yeah, especially if Zac comes across with something he can blackmail him with like an ugly photo or something. LOL

Aris T.

How cool would it be if we somehow come across Yrial in on of the memory domains ?

Dro

That C-Grade technique is a horrible bastardization of a better technique that is likely at least B-grade. And that B-grade technique was just a failed/rough inefficient copy of one of the 229 Techniques passed down from from First People (who would be peak of the peak of A grade). I don't think even the best version of the technique is higher than Peak Supremacy/Utmost Authority, but it's likely at the same level of skills used by people at the Emperor Limitless-level.

Jarrett Glass

Curious what he would put in place of his skill fractals then - pathways that only generate more energy?

Jeff McCulley

Shh. He has PoE to play, let the man enjoy himself! I mean, clearly The First Defier is in exile from the Multiverse, and writing books about it.

Jeff McCulley

As Wal’Zo told us, Laondio just borrowed Ultom for this Pillar.

Michael

There are 17 peaks to the Dao split between Seals and Thrones. The pillars are rising up to support the 8 seals. The systems path is to perfect all 17 peaks, while heavens path is following one of the Daos that is already completed and under heavens purview. Also Ultom itself is not a creation of the Limitless Empire. They only created the outer courts. The main heritage is from the 1st Era

Borbino the great

Yeah he’ll be one of if not the only person in the era who can use this method to hopefully get a crazy decrease in the energy it takes to keep his inner world developed

Borbino the great

Yeah I like how it’s gone more into how crazy valuable all his techniques and refinement techniques are really shows how far he’s come from some random progenitor to this absolute crazy warrior

Mike Naka

A C-grade technique pointing a path past Supremecy is an interesting stretch. I'll buy that for a $1! So are you saying each contestant has a chance to get some kind of technique from each Court that would lead to the 9th step? I think that might be true for just Zac. The System really is laying down the honey for him with all these unique opportunities. I think only the other Eonic seeds might have opportunities even closely compared to Zac but I doubt it. But there are other Flamebearers that have some fate. Zac's outweighs them all combined IMHO. But yeah...I'm wit ya so far LOL

Dro

Also, this might help explain Ultum itself and how/why it was created by Limitless. Ultum (and coincidencally the System) each attempt to imitate eternity/Heavens through a system of 8. Ultum has its 8 courts and the system has its 8 pillars (of which Ultum is the 5th pilliar and is recognized as the Zenith of the era's pillars). The 8 pillars support the "Heavens" in each case but true eternity likely requires a 9th since Iz mentioned "Heavens Path" currently has 8 steps but it might actually have a hidden 9th step. The core technique Zac just found requires 9 Void structures (9 steps????) to give it the strength to attack above it's own A-grade strength. Top tier Supremacies would give up literally anything to reach that 9th step and Limitless offered them that exact thing through his Limitless project which is why all the best loot can be found inside Ultum ...

Mike Naka

Ho Ho Ho TFD I think we've been good this year! Hint, Hint for any bonus chapters...Thought you said we'd get at least 1 a while ago. Or am I misremembering?

Mike Naka

Level Up! Dig the 9 Vestiges theory.

Dro

Theory time!! - "Eternity" is S-grade and the goal of cultivators at the terminus (either trying to cultivate longer [Creation-related] or ending the universe faster[Oblivion-related]). But even the strongest A-grade civilization cannot survive the end of Everything. The "First People" were among the strongest of the strong but didn't make it to eternity/through the terminus. They left 229 peak pieces of their heritage (semi-eternal-level techniques) when they died. All 229 would be peak of the peak of A-grade. [Nine Outer Vestiges] is a void technique that was likely one of the original 229 methods (the First People definitely had void cultivators so this could be the core cultivation style for their strongest members). If Zac can reverse-engineer it, the method would give him the foundation to reach the peak of Supremacy/almost to Eternity (and giving his faction a Peak A-grade foundation). This chapter basically explains how Hidden Earth's technique was C-Grade because it's a poor copy of a B-grade technique [Inverted Vestige Scripture] which, itself, was a poor copy of the original peak A-grade technique (coming from the First People). Zac just needs to use his abilities to back into the original peak A-grade technique - (then somehow improve upon it to make his push toward 'Eternity' ) Also stages in Autarch are them taking 'steps' on the Path towards Eternity (e.g the weakest Autarchs are 1-step Autarchs). 8 steps was the peak of what Iz Tayn knew about "Heavens path" as an A-grade prodigy.... But she does specifically mention the *possibility* of a 9th step (which would be superior to her family's path). If Zac can use his bloodline to create 9 vestiges and take the 9th step toward eternity, then his path would literally be closer to 'Eternity' then almost every other Autarch. Leandra also directly mentioned that if Zac cultivated until he reached 'Eternity' then killing her wouldn't be hard at all.. so she and the technocrats are obviously counting on him successfully reaching eternity..

Omiso

Look at the bright side even Zac knows his cultivation is getting complicated. That's why he got the [Void Emperor Apotheosis] method to combine all his cultivation techniques into one cohesive system. He still needs to do a lot of adaptations but the plan is to simplify the whole thing.

“If I want to steal something, it can only let itself get stolen.” Favorite line of the chapter. Thanks for your efforts TFD.

Mike Naka

great series!

Yes

We are are already slowly moving towards the system skills becoming slowly irrelevant with time. The reason is that it is likely that once Zac gets really setup with void cultivation , he could keep increasing his void affinities and with those affinities he would most likely freeform skills. I am talking something like Peak C-grade Zac. But we moving towards Life, Death , Creation and Oblivion being empowered purely with void. We have seen Iz Tayn freeform skills using her absurdly high Dao affinities. So Zac should be able to do something similar with void. When that happens , Zac is likely to just remove his skills altogether.

Steven McNeeley

Honestly I'm kind of lost, these recent string of like arcs have been hella convoluted. I understand these arcs are important but for some reason they feel like fillers. Maybe I need to go back a few books and get reread up I guess , but a lot of the stats and benefits Zac has been getting kind of just blurred all together and don't really feel special.

Chewbacchus

Nah, my favorite Krewe during NOLA Mardi gras, shamelessly stolen, though now I have something to look up, so thanks internet friend!

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

NiceTryMate

Well, if you’re going to die, might as well have som void bombs packed into your inner world. Got to go out with style!

Lex Luther S

Zac didn't really delve into that theory. I've re read from zacs breakthrough to middle hegemony to now two times, and he never had that thought until he started delving into the void more, which didn't really happen till the Imperial graveyard arc anyways. Now zacs initial thought process was having an unprecedented Peak core being tempered by the laws two more times as well as a freshly formed inner world tempered by laws to bring the drain to being almost negligible but the void being used to fully seal off his inner world and stop the drain wasn't a thought until now. Especially since the research, time, and resources he'd have to put into developing such a technique from scratch would have likely bankrupted even his wealth. With the hidden earth repository, he got ahold of the theories and knowledge he was sorely lacking as well as the techniques that can be of great help.

Andrew P

Sounds like he's found a way to separate his future inner world from the cosmos, on a personal sea of void. Good thing his core produces void energy.

Michael

Im pretty sure Zac already thought about using the Void to plug his inner world’s leaks before. The issue is that if he takes without giving back he is violating one of the core tenets of the multiverse. There has to be some downside otherwise he’ll leave everyone else in the dust.

John

Is the second half of your name inspired by bacchuc from The Perfect Run?

NiceTryMate

Haha, can imagine him demanding something ludicrous.

NiceTryMate

Luckily, the Mercurial court is focused on the peak of Continuum, and Esmeralda has got a dao of space. That should alleviate some issues. The 9 vestiges also seems to be handy as backup assets during the dao confirmation. At the monarchy breakthrough, Zac will be hit by two tribulation rounds (6 bolts), while when confirming his dao, it will be 3 rounds. The technique mentions sacrificing the void vestiges to come out mostly scot-free.

Omiso

First Zac says the [Outer Vestige Scripture] is an incredible dangerous technique in which a single vestige can draw more anger from the heavens and if it goes wrong it can blow a whole in your inner world and then he goes it can be incredible useful... is like his inner Michael Bay thinking how big can I blow something up, which means he's setting these up in his Inner World. Zac sometimes forget that for all his "High Intelligence" he has 10 times more strength and at this point his brain is probably filled with biceps flexing their might, which would explain why he always shush that little voice of reason that springs up every time something really dangerous is about to happen. He'll need to review his plans with the Ultom's token to add this into his Void God Apotheosis before blows himself up again.

Omiso

Don't forget Krav, that malevolent little goblin was a late monarch before he kicked the bucket.

Tommy

TFTC! I’m enjoying all these mini arcs with mysteries to solve, rather than just smashing through enemies like in the war. Don’t get me wrong, I like the fighting too. But this is a different flavour and it’s fun!

Han Pol

I kind of like these type of chapters going over the cultivation system overall this story is a bit hort on that compared to other cultivation stories. (much more focus on the techniques overall) Also if Zac finds a more stable method he may be able to share such a void cultivation technique later on with some of his followers. I'm sure some more ultum inspiration can help him to make this technique better and give him a better grasp on the void.

Michael

Esmeralda really is the best thief in the multiverse. Every other supremacy is watching and failing to get any clues about the trial, and she’s just hopping around inside taking what she wants.

Blake N.

Is that a typo or are you saying “DZac” as Dead Zac or Draugr Zac?

Frederik

if all else fails he just chops the fate into complience

Matthew Hay

Zac met Joanna in a memory domain. She didn't appear any different, so I don't think they take on an appearance of the identity like they do in the lanterns. Of course, Joanna hadn't used an identity since her own was stronger, so perhaps that changes things. Though Ogras and Ventus joined Zac in the last memory domain and there was no indication they had to hold hands to remain as a party or something. I think this implies you appear as yourself and your identity only affects the memory. If someone knows you're not who you say you are, then the identity is useless to other trial takers, outside of being able to leverage the memories to your advantage against the other party.

Tyler

That's what I've been thinking too. Do we know exactly what happens when you meet another trial taker in a memory? Have they discovered if it's even possible or the rules governing it? I can't recall.

NiceTryMate

Tftc! This heritage, along with some guidance from Yriel and maybe the Omnilord will set Zac up nicely for creating an inner world.

Chewbacchus

Wendimal Token should be Wendimar, right?

Mike Naka

i've been slimed! "lilac slime sprinkled with glitter" could it be another contender, possibly an edilon from the UE team? the glitter makes me think it's a girl! lol

Mike Naka

dang...that chapter seemed longer than usual. dig how tfd is prepping zack for monarchy. nice to learn more about it. between the 4 laws and this technique, zac might not have any energy loss and just be able to suck in and store energy like a black hole. he'd be able to go places other monarchs can't. wait why does that sound like star trek. lol

Lex Luther S

Hmmmm. It's a bit of an info dump, but the chapter gave us insight into zacs gains. While the heritage isn't anything truly groundbreaking, the knowledge of how to form an inner world as well as cultivate and advance are BIG. Especially how the void and an inner world interact with one another. An even bigger boon is those "Nine Outer Vestiges". If zac can figure out how to properly set them up, then the already low drain his inner world will have thanks to zacs experience with the 4 laws will be nigh on negligent. Adding on the power they give and zac is looking to be an even MORE busted monarch than he already was gonna be. Truly can't wait for Monday. A tad worried zac can't get any fate with thr court esmeralda needs but they should be able to through solving this issue.

Alexander Dupree

lol Esmeralda deserves the support. DZac is dropping the ball.

Andrew
