looking for some feedback on the august postcard
🕑 Added 2023-08-10 20:13:00 +0000 UTCHi y'all!! So, initially for the August postcard, I was going to make this sweet Stinky cat wizard into a postcard, and had started that process during stream on Tuesday:
and I still love him SOOOO MUCH but I'm instead going to make him a matching sticker/postcard set for September! I was dissatisfied with the linework for this piece -- I like the looseness of it, but it lacks a certain confidence in the lines that I'm trying to emulate. Also, I've lost a little bit of the chaotic energy in the cat that I wanna get in there too.
So for August, we'll be having those precious clown stickers and (hopefully) this colorful lil tulip painting!!
As you can see, I'm trying to be more free with my lines, my colors, everything -- and I'm rather happy with how this piece turned out, but I'm having trouble with the border. I've tried it without, but I think the piece needs some kind of framing element for the flowers. So! I wanna know your thoughts - do you like the arched frame, with the stars bleeding through, or the even checkered border? I'd love to know all your thoughts! Again, stinky wizard will absolutely be coming to fruition, but for next month instead. :D I'll probably also make him into a coloring page freebie hehe as well as a phone wallpaper!!
