Taylor Greenwell

Back in the perennial vastness Ogras was considered mid-tier of the people there. That intially sounds not stellar, but only the best of the best cultivators outside the imperials got tokens to that place, so its a huge achievement. That said, Catheya and Kruta were both considered towards the top of the power scale in the perennial vastness. I don't expect this changed in relation to Catheya who got an opportunity similarly impressive after breaking through as Ogras did, but Kruta likely fell behind Ogras even though he was mentored by an imperial autarch. Catheya and Ogras were both mentored by cosmos shattering supremacies. Ogras was stated by Zac and Rava to be the strongest in the Atwood Empire behind Zac in the just released book.

That said, Catheya and Kruta were both considered towards the top of the power scale in the perennial vastness. I don't expect this changed much. But, I would definitely place Ogras at the top of Zac's faction, even Zac said that in the most recent book as well as Rava.

zukerburg

I feel like vilari is more talented than most if not all the people who came from the perennial vastness (don't remember their group name either lol) except maybe for the one girl who could use both intent and technique, vilari came from a top tier Mentalist faction that even Iz recognized

Jeffrey Worrall

Nah, remember when Kator came through the portal to the Atwood Empire to start the mission to the beacon? Joanna and Ogras were the only 2 who could completely withstand his aura, Catheya and Kruta did pretty good but had to use their Dao. Imo this was the author giving us a subtle hint at the internal Atwood power rankings.

Jeff McCulley

I’d be shocked if Esmerelda didn’t already have treasures set aside to cover that “steep price” Maybe including the one at the start of this arc she was hoping all the old monsters watching didn’t notice.

Jeff McCulley

I think that Esmerelda will resume a regular cultivation progress, aside from the fact that she already knows how to get through all of the stages and bottlenecks. And at some point in her recovery, she’s supposed to go off to help her friend from the Perennial Vastness.

Jeff McCulley

I had to Google that, lol!

Jeff McCulley

Link of Demeter and Adaptive Symiosus coexisted. One for each plant. Link of Demeter is currently empty, and one of those skill slots Zack will eventually have to deal with. I vaguely recall that a couple that you listed were upgraded, but can’t promise that. Maybe when he was camping out in the Kavriel Undead’s cultivation chamber? He upgraded a bunch of skills then.

Jeff McCulley

At least, anyone not among Zac’s revenant youngsters back home. Drawing a blank on the name of the group…

Jeff McCulley

I dunno. I think it’s more the concept he’d draw inspiration from, rather than the literal process? I mean, Ogras just had to grasp a concept related to shadows, rather than HOW the Void is a shadow.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Johnny

Ooh good pt. Vilaris the most naturally talented out of anyone

Jeff McCulley

They both broke through to Early D Grade at the same time, and haven’t improved. Verun, you’re up after Alea!

Jeff McCulley

She was saying this elemental isn’t even as strong as Ogras. He’s more like the folks after Ogras.

Jeff McCulley

Ogras is ahead of Kruta and Catheya. Esmerelda was saying that the elemental isn’t even as strong as Ogras is. Also, not sure she’s not talking about Vilari instead.

Justin

If we ever reach it I could see ogras being only one to stop zac should he ever lose himself briefly. Due to his insight into void recently and how to combat it and of course being an assassin. And if he ever did have to put zac down we know death isn’t permanent

Dominic Fox

He’s an assassin, his single target burst damage is probably a the highest of all zacs followers In a fight where people are aware he is there, and he isn’t able to kill them in one shot he can only flee

Johnny

More or less agree. I think foundations are important but no one can overtake anyone else if u got off on the wrong foot or were poor or whatever and early grades were just too important. Ogras training w Sendors assassin friend and being in Zac’s River of fate is a way bigger deal

MacMahon Wenzl

Ogras didn't have the same opportunity for titles and other things in the F grade. Every grade compounds and expands upon your achievements in the prior grade. Ogras has had more opportunities than anyone other than Zac since the E grade but the fact that he had about 0 good opportunities for the majority of the F grade makes him technically weaker. Although, his opportunities throughout the E/D grade are more or less unparalleled due to his "connection" with Zac. I think Ogras is still the strongest subordinate. Not because of overall power but because of lived experience. As the fight between Zac and Average taught us long ago, teaching can create a powerhouse but lived experience can create true monsters.

Johnny

How so

Omiso

Is not bad idea and considering the obsession of the elemental agent working on it he might be thinking of something like that, but there are two problems for Zac. First Zac's talent for Formation is acceptable, but not great. Despite his accomplishments none of his Dao upgrades in any of his Daos is related to formations. The second problem is this formation is related to the Elements and the Tapestry, being from a different peak will make it hard for Zac to gain the right kind of inspiration that will get the ball rolling toward that path.

Dro

Everyone's focused on Alea and the Flame, but I'm over here thinking of how an 'Evolving' Natural Formation that can eventually harm Supremacies is the prefect inspiration for an even higher level of Zac's Dao of Evolution. I'm actually surprised that wasn't literally the first thing Zac thought of when he heard about how the curse/virus/formation already evolved to evade Monarchs, and had seemingly endless evolutionary potential.

Christian Brock

He's still a few steps behind. He started in a far worse position.

Johnny

Ogras gotta be at least as strong as Cathy and Kruta

liquid_helix

…

Omiso

Early D Grade, Peak D Quality, sapient spirit tool, that combines weapon, armaments and regalia. Alea is one of the most amazing Spirit Tools shown in the novel at her grade but she still an early hegemon, now she intends to upgrade to mid stage.

Owen Stevens

I think Esmerelda will have to pay a steep price to break the curse. Even with the item, I have a feeling she'll lose power rather than gain it.

Han Pol

Also it would be great if we could get like a ranking of his subordinates :) personally I pegged Ogras as one of the strongest but than his Undead lass and Kruta had big fractions behind them so that makes sense. Afterwards, I would guess Ogras after all he was in the Vastness and than Emily who gained a ton of merit and treasure and Johanna with her inheritance?

Frederik

I wonder what will happen when here course gets liftet will she regain some of her Former Self/cultivation or will she just stay her new self and go through the ranks again?

Han Pol

if I remember corectly Alea at least wasn't low D-grade. Just Verun

Omiso

Now that I see Spiritual Anchor showing up again I wonder what did happen to Cosmic Gaze, Primal Polyglot, Innate Ward, Link of Demeter and whatever other support skill I might have forgotten about? I'm guessing after upgrading his soul and gaining Soul Sense made Cosmic Gaze redundant. Primal Polyglot might also be redundant after the Great Esmeralda gave Zac that Dao language gift. Innate ward might have been replaced with Empyrean Aegis since I don't remember him using it again after the Orom arc. But Link of Demeter was a contract skill with Vivi and Haro, was it removed when he gained Adaptive Symbiosis?

1FantasyFanatic

The ultimate smash and grab duo.

Andrew

Thank you!

@Jeff "Word Up" - Cameo

Omiso

All Hail the Great Esmeralda, listen to her teachings and may your pockets never be empty.

Jeff McCulley

Sure, but I’m not sure she’s going to make it all the way to Late. Guess we’ll see. Hmm. After the breastplate with the heart, how long before the codpiece with another?

Jeff McCulley

Heh. I was wondering why DZac and Esmerelda were exploring g a memory domain, rather than searching for the right memory lantern for an identity for the Mercurial Court. Now we know! Edit: meant to add, I suppose if you’re not finding the right memory lantern right off the bat, you might as well explore some domains, right?

PapaJohn

Love's Bond is about to get a WICKED upgrade ermagahd! Didn't Alea or Zac say that she'll cover more of his body as she advances through D-Grade?

Lex Luther S

Interesting. Seems they're going to not only get a hold of great material for alea but also solve the issue plaguing the town. By also killing this elemental, it's should help them seize enough fate with the Mercurial Court to maybe get an identity. And Alea is going to be upgraded in this memory domain, huh? an expert thief that can go as she pleases even under the gazes of monarchs is really handy. Once she gets the item she needs and her curse fixed, then they can really start looting, and I can't wait. Welp, the Mercurial Court is going to be the first outer court they reach. This issue should be resolved by Fridays chapter, given that the elemental is doing all the work, so after TFD comes back from his vacation, we'll hopefully jump right into them, finding an identity for the Mercurial court and then reaching the court.

Thanks for the chapter
