Arthur

I thought the same

Sean C Jackson

Also it could be high grade gold with special properties.

Dan

I sort of take it as his human/earthly upbringing. It’s just how he thinks of things because he grew up as a human on pre-integrated earth.

David Ballantyne

I know it's a turn of phrase, but I couldn't help but think gold is worthless at Zacs level, nevermind higher.

Seamus Harley

Is Zac saying here that he will get rid of the creators shipyard when the trial ends? That seems shortsighted to me, who cares if they spy on his planet, he will be leaving for the the technocrat heartlands or the sindris clan or the six profundity empire or the abyssal shores. He won't be there to be spied upon and even if the demand for the creators vessels lowers, I imagine the vessels will occasionally still be bought

John

I think the title upgrade ties into planets the Atwood Empire forcefully gained control of when Zac was actively on the front lines? Then when Zac pulled back from the war to attend to preparations for Ultom, like with the Ensolus Ruins, and the Centurion Base attack the Atwood Empire was still fighting but they weren't working at the same pace as before. The expansion that Ilvere mentions in the pre-Ultom chapter is after the title upgrade and the majority of the war and is an attempt to shore up logistical deficiencies developing due to the growing pains of acquiring the previous planets and peoples during the wars peak.

Lex Luther S

I must say I'm rather excited now that we're finally entering the next stage of the Ultom arc.

Lex Luther S

Old man rivers said that there wasn't much to do the past few months as not even they could peer into the Left imperial expanse and see what was happening during the trial so time is indeed passing for all.

Jeff McCulley

The various Supremacies are noticing things happen as time passes, so…I kinda doubt that.

Orthes

There is a chance that all of LIE is in a temporal tributary or something equivilant, so not sure any time has passed on the outside since the trial kicked off.

Dro

If you just attempted to kill someone important (and steal their Fate) it's gonna take a lot of money/gifts just to settle the bad Karma you'd just sown with them. Same with Zac's mom paying a high price (at the time) for the 'death' of Thea to minimize Karma.

Jeff McCulley

If what I am thinking is right, I’d guess that part of the reason we’re not getting an Atwood Empire update is so that Zac can be surprised by his Empire’s growth when the Event is done—and us along with him.

M💬

I want a POV for the empire and how it’s faring……. Hopefully we get it, but I don’t mind waiting it will be glorious

Frederik

i hope that great redeemer managed to become c grade just so an peak D grade Zac can stumble into him and beat the snot out of him or the redeemer manages to find earth only to be greeted by zac Xd

Jeff McCulley

Heh. Move it to Mossy’s moon? Lol. There is that E grade spiritual metal planet. That seems like it would be fitting—especially if they upgraded it.

Jeff McCulley

I’m a little confused here. “In addition, the Atwood Empire would have added a dozen feeder planets that needed to be brought up to standard.” In Chapter 1,227 (iirc), Zac sees his title upgraded to Viscount of Conquest, and assumes it’s because the Empire added a dozen planets, as planned. Months (and 42 chapters) later, in Chapter. 1,269, Ilvere is talking about adding a dozen or more planets. So, is this *another* dozen (plus) planets? Is the Atwood Empire actually up over TWO dozen planets now?

Jeff McCulley

Nah. It’s just straight up corporate marketing.

Palmer Evans

Couldn’t the gifts also settle karma? Like when Zac’s mom gave him a million D-grade Nexus coins to pay for “killing” Thea and kidnapping his sister

MacMahon Wenzl

The gifts are meant to tie Zac to Kaltosa Lu trough karma created by the sharing of "gifts".

Tom C

The LEET chapter 1337. Congrats! I’m loving this arc. Mystery, action, power ups.

Jeff McCulley

This identity doesn’t have obligations. It has privileges. It opens doors. It also apparently isn’t the greatest person. I’m guessing “Everit” is a womanizer, and Zac is about to meet a pissed off husband. Since he’s a law enforcement person, and people wouldn’t dare mess with him otherwise. The chain quests are done by the time they reach this point.

Jeff McCulley

Exactly! Good memory!

Esch

Zac himself has the same goodie bags only his are D grade ones. He handed out a few of them back when he came back from the Oron World and went with Emily to recruit the mercenarys that saved her in the Million Gates territory.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

zukerburg

I am calling it now zacs new identity is some sort of pervert/deviant lol

Owen Stevens

the creators put a tracking device on his main ship. They were tracking him for the Centigrade Faction (the one that Kaltusa Lu belongs to). Since they are a system granted shop, they aren't allowed to do that (not without a hefty price/penalty). I personally think he's gonna move them off the main world, but keep them around for profit.

James Getgood

No he was trying to reach monarchy through his shenanigans

Ben

What is happening with the shipyard? I must have missed why he wants to get rid of it.

DrSubterfuge

@Jeff It isn't about Kaltosa, it's about how the specific identity has obligations in the domain like Emily did in hers. Neither of his other identities have had specific chaining obligations beyond Wendimar attracting attention for being a Wendimar.

WindGunner

Was he c grade?

Palmer Evans

After Ultom, he could swat the Great Redeemer who is Peak D grade. He’d prob not have a match in Zecia unless they are Late Monarch. I’m assuming he will end up being one of the strongest Peak D grades in existence by the end of this arc

Jeff McCulley

Yes. And we’re saying that once he gets back, his plans will change. Because circumstances there will have changed.

Jeff McCulley

No, he’s using it exactly like that. Kaltosa Lu simply already knows exactly who he is. Like how Ventus and Ogras know who HZac actually is.

Jeff McCulley

“Lu was no Don Quijote out” >Quixote “just seconds ago” >before “major one held after the ceremony” >to be held “hurrying in the direction he pointed” >the direction indicated “Esmeralda had thought up before” >had cooked up

J L

i think he's planning on getting rid of the shipyard

Jeff McCulley

Please pardon me while I laugh! Zac is gobsmacked at this Cosmic Sack and its contents, thinking it’s some magnificent display of wealth. If Iz were here, she’d likely sniff and inform him that it’s a common corporate goodie bag, like those handed out at trade fairs. Remember how her “walking around” money was in B grade coins? Yeah, this is a goody bag intended for relatively high ranking members of A grade factions—a mere pittance. It’s just samples, and the hook, the standard usage would be that the Centigrade Collective makes their money back many times over by those A grade factions hiring them to utilize those samples. They give you enough materials and instructions to try it yourself…just until you realize that in this case, DIY is a total waste. Like Zac has that kind of dough to hire stuff done. He literally says that about the B grade market two minutes later. “Hi Iz! Wanna trade?” Well, it’s probably also intended to reinforce that Zac’s the frontier hick that he is, but that’s beside the point. It’s just gravy. Okay, he adds the Cosmic Crystals for forming his core, which may be the most relevant point. Still…this is fun!

TFTC

Jeff McCulley

I am guessing that part of the “sanction” is that Zac gets the shipyard upgrade free. Like you, I also suspect that wherever the Atwood Empire winds up after this, his Creator ships will still sell like hotcakes. Especially if the LIE rises in Zecia.

Jeff McCulley

Ch.1,337 Suggested Edits “Five crystals weren’t enough for Zac with his exceedingly deep foundations” *You already said ten unattuned. Or is he splitting with Esmerelda? “Zac couldn’t disdain the elemental” >deride OR disparage “ the basics, Zac learned overheard a few new” >learned “I’m Everit Draom of the Imperial” > Everit Dram last chapter “rejected, excusing” >rejected the offer, excusing “best left to stew” >simmer “Stewing” has different connotations “change and reach the Mercurial Court Early.” >early “Zac’s guts said he” >gut Edit, adding: “into the strength inside the trail” >into strength “rule out it was part” >rule out that it was part

Omiso

It seems Zac's new identity doesn't allow him to use it like a fake id to justify his real identity like the Wendimar or the Legion's tokens. So is likely this is a chain memory quest like the one Emily had, fun times ahead.

Lex Luther S

DAMN zac got some extra money now lol. I'm still convinced that his creators shipyard and the branch they belong to has been sanctioned by the system after zac discovered that array and he'll likely have something very enticing to keep it. Still though, to give away over 30 c grade coins worth of resources like that, Kaltosa Lu truly did his homework on zac. Greedy as can be, he won't mind lending a hand while keeping that deathly knife nice and sharp for a backstabe lol. Though, a breakthrough with his soul and daos is definitely needed to barely even that playing field. Anyways, interesting information, from the use of High quality cosmic crystals to the courts and docks opening, very much look forward to Mondays chapter. Especially to find out the baggage his identity has. Definitely has to he heavy with how even zacs annoyed by it. I'm more curious when Janos will arrive. He was probably a main component in the Mercurial Courts opening and with his use of teleportation arrays, he actually shouldn't be that far off.

Andrew

Thank you!

Owen Stevens

I like seeing Zac punch above his weight class. But after this Arc, i want to see him dominate some average cultivators again. Just for perspective, ya know?

Owen Stevens

first?
