Ian

If his circumstances were anything like his human side, he needed to get away. Shouldn't this be his Draugr side?

Lucas Gulick

Whaaaaaaaat!?! I take a couple weeks off and Zac starts knocking at Monarchies door? Wild

Jeff McCulley

I was trying to figure out how much soil “several tons” was. Turns out, there are several layers to this. Most people consider “several” to be between three and seven. For a visual reference, good a five yard dump truck. A cubic yard is roughly 1.4 tons. A cubic yard covers something like 100x110 feet, at three inches deep. Let’s say you need…maybe five times that depth for spiritual plants? In short, Zac can match Iz’s C grade garden now.

Ithoughtofsomething

“They? Plural?” - "Their? Plural?"

John

Shit lol this might be the killing shot to my theories

Markus

It would be an outrageous, if Zac achieve Monarchy before visiting The Lord of Cycles Yrial.

Jeff McCulley

I think he has a better chance with the other Flamebearers.

Jeff McCulley

For anyone interested, Ch. 1,293 is the chapter where Zac first sees the interior of the Fuxi Mountain Gate.

John

Isn’t there a visualized war going on in Zac’s Soul Aperture? With actual “combatants”. Is that expected to be folded into the eventual inner world?

DrSubterfuge

Better to ask this after Zac has gone through what his gains were. We don't even know how much stronger he is now compared to how strong he was before he entered the Mercurial court trial. Even then, I'm not sure how much we would be able to say without Zac giving his own estimate. Surely the other Flamebearers are also getting stronger.

Alexandre Bergeron

Maybe someone can help me with the currrent powerscaling of D-grades in this arc. Where does Zac sit when compared to other trial-takers. Does he compare to the Flamebearers? And are the nine heavens Eonic Seeds like that Theomore princess stronger still? Like is the Theomore princess stronger than Iz? My head canon is curious.

EsoEasy

If I read it correctly, according to Tavza, the key to evolving the bloodline is not really being Peak D grade but rather having an inner world: “Evolving bloodlines or constitutions to C-grade before forming an Inner World is exceedingly difficult, much harder than entering Monarchy.” Seems like Zac is already starting that with absorbing the illusory timeline into his void heart. My theory is that Zac will somehow stabilize this as some pseudo inner world and use that to evolve his void emperor bloodline before advancing entirely into C grade.

Rodney

I think if he can get his bloodline to C grade before the end of the trial then he has a better shot when it comes to the nine heavens and their monsters at the end of the trial since they're just cheats the first place

Surgebinder

I think a lot of us have forgotten how fast Zac had been going through the levels before hitting the D grade roadblock. As time has gone by I realise that TFD was right to take so long with it, it felt like a genuine roadblock. After reaching hegemony Zac has been flying through the levels again. Considering all the time shenanigans going it’s safe to assume that the other flamebearers will also be Monarchs by the end of this arc.

Jeff McCulley

Well, some of his secrets are out to everyone already, after all. Way back when he sent off the Eternal guys to smash all of the Kan’Tanu bases, I assume “Arcaz” would have gotten individual credit for all of that—including on the leaderboards. And then the top two guys would have jumped to the next tier leaderboard at the same time, Zach Atwoood and Arcaz Black. And if it’s still out there, when he reaches Peak, they’ll do it again. So, yeah, not hard to figure out.

Jeff McCulley

I admit to being curious as to how DZac’s party joins him at the Court from the Transformative Docks. Teleporter inside the memory domains since he made it? Can’t let all of those sweet, sweet brib—er, fees be lost. And this does seem like a good environment for Esmerelda to look for her item. Fun Monday ahead! Methinks it must needs be time for some serious rereading.

Havics Child

He said it was already breaking down when he used it to hold the door, he probably assumed he either ate it already in his failed breakthrough, or that it broke down fully already

Owen Stevens

Zac basically told Tavza that he has 2 bloodlines. The drauger were skeptical of the void zone to begin with, and now that human Zac asked about bloodlines...

Jeff McCulley

I thought it was pretty obvious the System was going to offer them a solution in the Store, for that huge pile of Merit they were accumulating. As I’ve mentioned before, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Atwood Empire wound up orbiting the Left Imperial Expanse.

Jeff McCulley

Zac didn’t look for the copper ore he used as a door stopper. Because he sure as heck didn’t grab it.

Russ

He's probably level 249

Russ

Zac also blamed the tribulations lighting for destroying the C grade soil, but he probably just absorbed with void.

Damian Menendez

I think he gets his inner world and that’s the way he gets his empire out of a bind. Moving them there

Matt

205 is the last level I remember too.

Jeff McCulley

Where do you suppose the levelling energy will come from, since there is no kill energy? Unless, I suppose, he fights lots and lots of trial takers.

John

I keep saying it man. Monarchy in this arc. It made narrative sense at first but now the possibility is being slowly fleshed out. Ultom is what pulled Zac into the D grade and it is what will likely see him exit into Monarchy. The first glimpses of Ultom reignited Zacs momentum while still stuck in E grade all the way back books ago in the Void star. That was the beginning of DOTF's Hegemony arc, Ultom is the capstone and Monarchy has always been the prize. If you've seen the anime One Piece imagine this is the equivalent of the Marineford War Arc, an arc that started multiple storylines before the actual war. I've always thought that Zac ascending during the Selvari/Abyssal Lake arc doesn't make sense. It's like studying for the Bar Exam nonstop for 3 years straight, becoming completely ready to take it and then waiting a year to do so. All the prep for Monarchy is here, in Ultom. Why would Zac dominate something as rare as a Pillars ascent (5th in Multiversal history) which likely contains an eternal Heritage at its center among many other A, B, C and D grade prizes, which is also an area that is probably equivalent to B/A grade mystical realms, defeat multiple multiversal tier Late D/Peak D Eonic seeds, probably maybe communicate with Limitless or Karz, put his empire in an extremely difficult position on the outside and not ascend to Monarchy?

Kris Piskorski

Monarchy finally!!

Andrew

Thank you!

Yuh292

So you think he gets to Peak D Grade in the trial?

StuBee3

I’m hoping we get another Tavza POV to see what she is thinking about all this. TFTC 😎

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

NiceTryMate

It’s known that a Proto-space is the poor-man’s solution to reaching C-grade. Building the inner world in two steps does severely lower the difficulty, but at the cost of the inner world’s quality/potential. I hope he creates his inner world in one go, like the heartland scions.

Jeff McCulley

Theoretically, he’ll spend that 2-3 decades traveling through the Endless Storm on the Yphelion, with plenty of time for uninterrupted cultivation. While his Draugr side is quietly cultivating at the Abyssal Shores. Er…why do I suspect it won’t wind up being that simple and straightforward?

Jeff McCulley

All right, carry on then, Zac. So, any bets? Does he make is Bloodline breakthrough in one of the Courts? The Left Imperial Palace? Or standing in the middle of Ultom? Somehow, I suspect that pulling it at the Abyssal Shores, or the Pesvati Rift, might not be the best idea. Although…him eating all of Kaltosa Lu’s stuff might be fun? Wait. What if that vault is empty not because Esmerelda raided it, but… 🤔

Jeff McCulley

One thing I think he has yet to do is remove more imperfections from his fire, from that desperate breakthrough. This batch of tribulation lighting, with the Laws, should help with that one digested…right?

Jeff McCulley

I’m sure he’ll have lots and lots of cultivators living in his inner world. It’s what they do. See the chapter at the Mercurial Court where they were let out for the party.

Matt

His bloodline yeah but not his actual level. He still needs to learn more about his duplicity core before he can make the jump to monarch.

Michael

What level was Zac before this? I think I remember him hitting 205 after the dipper mountains. So he could be right at the threshold to peak hegemony. A C-grade Void Emperor bloodline probably puts Zac up there with Iz and the other top flamebearers

Tom C

C-grade for Zac let’s gooooo! TFTC

Jeff McCulley

“If his circumstances were anything like his human side…” Draugr side. This IS the human side, and it’s the draugr who caused a commotion. So…did HZac gobble up treasures from the graveyard? Nice setting! It would be fun to see them explore here, but I suspect they’re moving on shortly.

Palmer Evans

Wow I thought Peak Hegemony was the max we’d see inside the trial but it looks like we might see a rapid push towards Monarchy. Hard to imagine Zac still being behind Iz or the other Flamebearers at that point

Hartmann

Margrave Wartorius is presiding over the Hollow Court. He was first mentioned in the arc in Dipper Seven when his arrival from the Limtless Expanse was soon expected.

Kaladin

Who is the margrave from the past two chapters again? Does he have any interaction/relation to Zac in the past? I know Roan and the primo but not who the third supremacy was. Is it a member of the first people and from his cosmic forge inheritance or is he related to the limited empire in some way?

gary lutz

neat, tidy and a lot less to unpick, thankfully. I'd go with the sadistic monster comment :D

Edgar Segura

Sick

Mateo Lopez

I’ve said it before, at the end of this Arch Zac is gonna get very close to monarchy but he won’t be able to cross that line until after Sanctuary. So my theory is he’s gonna get a protospace at the end of this.

Lex Luther S

Seriously great. Take about 2-3 decades shoring up his foundations before attempting his breakthrough and a proper C grade void emperor bloodline and he'll be far more set for monarchy. Especially if he can get the Fuxi mountain gate to be able to stay open long enough for him to survive the tribulations. Welp, no chapter till Monday. Sadge indeed.

Taylor Greenwell

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if when the trial is over and we get back to earth that Zecia is no more and earth is located in the multiversal heartlands in a C Grade environment. That, or Zecia is upgraded to C / B grade capable cultivation quality as a reward for the Atwood Empire with all the formerly high grade factions that fled Zecia rather than finishing the war being barred from the rewards.

Alexander Dupree

This is gonna be GOOD! On a related note what if he creates an inner world but still can’t be a cultivator and then grows a cultivator inside himself? ROFL he’d be so stoic about it but quietly pissed.

Taylor Greenwell

Phew. Sounds like failing the upgrade wasn't much of a setback, he just needs more resources and foundational work to make it over the threshold. TFD had us all extremely worried, there. It also sounds like with the refilling of the personal void, all the damage to his foundations and core from his fight with Kator and breaking through to late hegemony has been fixed. I expect if he had to fight Kator again now it would be tough still but not a desperate one that pushes him to the edge of his capabilities. And with the Fuxi Mountain Gate he will likely be able to hide from the heavens during his breakthrough to Peak Hegemony and survive the tribulations without having his core destroyed like with the last core upgrade. All in all, Zac is in a great position.

Evan Therrien

A C grade Zac will be scary. whenever it happens whatever’s left of Zecia better be ready.

Aiden

🔥

James Getgood

Noooooo, don't make us wait 5 days to see the gains. You sadistic monster.
