🕑 Added 2024-01-18 21:47:17 +0000 UTCI'm not gonna lie, knowing that I'm going to be doing these photo dumps more regularly makes me hyper aware of just how much time I spend at home...I know COVID cases are going up right now (pls get your updated vaccine!!! Ares and I are going on Saturday~), so it's not too much sadness about not going out, but it makes me very aware of how a lot of my days are very same-y.
And I usually don't have an issue with this!! But I've had this feeling lately where it almost feels like I'm getting FOMO with my own life?? If that makes sense?? Something that makes me want to make my little home life more special/interesting/intentional, especially when I'm documenting it for y'all. Cause I honestly just work during the day and then spend my evenings crocheting/knitting/playing video games lol and I love it but I fear y'all might think it boring T-T
Anyway! Let me tell you about the past couple weeks:
- my sweater is almost done!!! I'm so close to the cuff on the second sleeve -- I think I might be able to finally finish it and block it tonight!
- Pepper has been so especially wiggly lately heheh -- she likes to roll around on her heating pad but also my desk and bite my hand as I'm using my mouse and press her little head into my arm so hard it actually makes it impossible to work at my computer lol
- every time Ares comes over, if he's on the couch for more than 2 minutes, Pepper WILL find a way to loaf on him, it's wild
- I watched Pokémon Concierge for the first time over the weekend with some pals on Discord and it made me cry so many happy tears ToT it's such a masterpiece of joy and delight and it made me so desperately wish Pokémon were real. All I want is a lil Swablu to sit on my head and pretend to be a hat!! Is that so much to ask!!
- During said call, we were all just gushing about Pokémon so I brought out my treasured Fat Pikachu game backpack that I've had since I was super little, which holds my Gameboy Advanced SP, along with all my Gameboy/Gameboy Advanced Cartridges!! I'm so happy I found this thing when me and my mom were going through some storage boxes while I was in college
- a couple weeks ago I was gaming with my friend Cal and somehow Happy Home Designer came up?? So I impulse bought it on eBay for like $15 and it's been so relaxing and fun~ my first time playing this brand of game was with the Happy Home Paradise DLC for ACNH, but the DS graphics are so charming in their own right :') also I've really got a knack for home design :D it makes me want to get back into all my old DS games!! perhaps I'll finally get around to playing Pokémon White...
- I went to Kohl's with Ares to get him some new work shirts and pants, and stumbled across this beautiful blue puffer jacket that was VERY on sale! I've lived in Seattle for 6 years and still didn't own a simple thin puffer, so I went ahead and snagged it~
- some chimkens from the neighborhood because I love them
- Ares has been helping me a lot with computer stuff lately. He has a LOT of experience with building computers, so his insight and help has been so appreciated ToT He determined that the issues I've been having with my computer stem from my GPU, and he also knew that I wanted a new cooling system so my computer isn't so damn loud whenever I'm streaming, sooOOOOO based on his recommendations, I went ahead and bought stuff to upgrade basically my whole PC -- a new graphics card, a new motherboard, new liquid cooling system, new fans, and a new power source! He's going to be installing it all this weekend >:) I'm SOOO excited, because I demand a lot from my PC between streaming, video editing/exporting, and gaming (and sometimes two of those at once), so now she's gonna be so powerful and beautiful and I can't wait to show you all my new specs. I'm gonna be recording a very casual little vlog for y'all when Ares does the install this Sunday!
- on a similar note, thank you for your financial support so that I am able to upgrade my PC in this way and continue to streamline/better all my processes!!! I love you!!! I pretty much don't touch my Macbook anymore, which I NEVER thought would happen, I never ever thought I'd be a Windows baddie instead of an iOS one....how gaming changes a person...
- last night I got to see my dear friend Seth for the first time in AGES!! And we played this excellent board game called Tipperary that he had just got, which is about building a lil Irish homestead and brewing whiskey and making flocks of sheep, it's WONDERFUL and each game is no more than like 10 minutes?? it's really lovely!!
- I've been getting into Genshin again and it's been so fun :') Fontaine's archon quest really is just Ace Attorney in Genshin Impact, so I'm happy as a clam, as you can imagine hehe BUT in the first chapter which I was playing last night I was shocked to see the game make allusions to sex trafficking? And this same "eminent person" is said to have girls in his basement in the next dialogue box!!! This is very dark for Genshin!!! And I feel like Fontaine really marks a tone shift in terms of the larger world lore...I'm just excited to be wandering around the world again <33
- I finally cleared out some stuff from my storage unit!! I'm very lucky in that my building also has lil storage units in the basement, and I make good use of mine lol. But with the new year, and as I've been listening to the book How to Keep House While Drowning (which I can't recommend enough), I've been getting itchy looking at all the mess around my apartment, so when I took down my Christmas stuff last night I was like "WELL WHILE I'M HERE" and took out the stuff I've been meaning to get rid of for ages. And just this afternoon, a local junk removal company came and picked it all up!!
- and then as I'm getting ready to film a Procreate "draw with me", I was horrified by the state of my keyboard so I very quickly took off some keycaps and gave it a lil cleaning. There was...so much cat hair in there....
- And then a photo of Soph on the self-heating pad I took up from the basement :') Gave it a wash yesterday, so now she has a lil warm spot on the couch hehe
MWAH!! Sending all my love!! Now I gotta EAT I'm very hungy

thank you for the reminder to watch pokemon concierge!! i need that kind of wholesomeness in my life right now. and your life isn't boring!! i love seeing your day-to-day and mine is similar so it's nice to see someone else who enjoys spending their time the same way :) the fontaine archon quests are sooo good, hoyo really stepped it up!! i can't believe natlan is coming this summer

the FOMO with ur own life is SO RELATABLE ;o; i feel constantly like i NEED to be *living* more than just *surviving* but it's sososo difficult. sometimes it helps me to remember that my habits and homebody tendencies are my brain's way of trying to regulate my various body systems, esp working in such a demanding job where i have like 20billion things going on at any given moment. also, ur rec for kc davis' book has given me the itch to buy it!! it's been on my TBR for months but i just can't pull the trigger on a $30 book (CAD pricing rip) but i know the audiobook won't work for me bc i realized recently i NEED visuals to absorb things better *big sigh* hopefully a paperback or cheaper price comes about soon!!!

the "sameness" of your day-to-day is very realistic though. my days are similar with work in the day, cat snuggles, crocheting, and gaming in the evening and I love it.

I know the feeling of getting a little worried/FOMO when your daily routine is always exactly the same. But it's also nice and I love seeing other people's normal lives so no fear of me getting bored here 😂
