sophie update!!!
🕑 Added 2025-02-22 22:33:25 +0000 UTCso I’m at the emergency vet again today watching Sophie as she curls up in her oxygen chamber. she was here overnight and might be here another night, depending on how her breathing improves. it turns out that she has heart failure, meaning that my time with her is limited now, but hopefully with proper medication and a nice calm home, i’ll get a good bit more quality time with her 🥹 this is not wholly unexpected as this is a not wholly uncommon side effect of hyperthyroidism, but it sucks all the same, y’know
she’s responding well to the diuretics to get the fluid out of her lungs, and her blood work looks good and her ultrasounds don’t show anything worsening, so she’s on the up and up! slowly but surely
she was pacing around a bit when i first got here but she devoured some wet food and had water and was licking her chops and everything !! and even licking her paws and grooming her face :’) and now she seems to be settling down for a nap (hopefully) whenever i stick my hand in thru the porthole to pet her she pushes her face into my hand so hard ;-; she wants to come home as much I want her to 😭 my moon and my stars 💫🌙
i might not be able to get the last podcast and the sketchbook tour out next week but i’ll keep yall posted either way xx thanks for your understanding!!
