An unaddressed box, gorgeously wrapped in slightly singed antique fabric and lace( that looks suspiciously like pieces of an old dress).Inside is an old photograph from 1910 of a woman who looks exactly like me, standing in front of a big beautiful Victorian mansion. And written on the back is 3 words " come home, Sara"

On Christmas morning after my children and I have opened our stockings and presents and they are sitting by the fireplace playing with their new toys, I notice a small wrapped box behind the tree that is partially hidden by a low hanging branch. I get on my knees and reach under the branches to grasp the present, seeing a poorly scrawled note on top that says “Father”. I open the box and notice a folded piece of construction paper sitting at the bottom. When I unfold it, my heart begins to race as a see a figure drawn next to a Christmas tree, lying down with two “x”s for eyes, with dark red crayon filling the space next to the body. I spin around on my knees and gasp as my children are standing together behind me, eyes unblinking, the glint of knives in their hands reflecting the christmas tree lights
Georgina
The black and red Furby I got when I was 11, and promptly disposed of. The very identical Furby. No box. It just shows up on your doorstep, expectantly, those hollow eyes staring back at you. Watching....waiting...
Kate Balinski
Same!!!!!! Those fiery guys scared the hell outta me as a kid. I still crying when I watch Labyrinth and they try to take off Sara’s head.

My recently deceased dog in taxidermy form. I'd honestly love that but it would be just be the creepiest Christmas gift for me!
Kate Balinski
The creepiest present I could receive would be a handmade photo album filled with candid pictures of me from my childhood until present day. All the pics would be of me with my gaze slightly off perspective as if someone had been to all my soccer games, holiday parties, my school musicals and graduations. Lovingly decorated with craft paper, stickers, dates and descriptions of each event... From an anonymous stalker. Someone who has been tracking me my whole life. Oh... September 26,1998? Brookfield Zoo. Chicago, Illinois. 3pm. Kate saw manatees.
Kerri L Neighbors

A puppy that looks like the spitting image of my dog that passed when I was a little girl. Creepy, but in a good way. A doppelganger, perhaps even with her same mannerisms, curled up under the Christmas tree with an attitude like she already owned the place.
Patricia Dunn

My tonsils were removed when I was 16. At that time the hospital let me take them home in a see through plastic container. I hide them in our old dirt floor cellar, in-between the rocks of the foundation. The family home was sold 4 years ago. I would like the new owners to return the tonsils to me for Christmas. I would feel it as a nice gesture, ever so . . . .creepy.
Ms. Cordelia
I actually received an angel figurine from a lady that passed away 20 years ago. With a signed card from her.

Victorian era, antique ormolu perfume bottle. But instead of the ornate floral motif that was popular at the time, mine would have a beautiful (but deadly) tangle of gilded gold webbing and arachnids.
Jana McDowell

Marielle Bodenheimer
Creepiest Christmas present, which is also the coolest Christmas present, I could receive: An antique mirror with an old golden, stained and scratched frame. As I set to restore the frame I keep it in my bedroom. At night I wake up by a strange light spilling into my room. At first I presume it to be light from my phone screen, but then the light seems to flicker like the flame of a candle. I would sit up in bed, look around, and notice the light shining from the mirror. There is no other light source in the room. The golden frame glistens in the moving light like it is brand new, reflecting in the curves of the ornaments. I lean forward to get a better look. The mirror has become like a window. I do not see my own confused and sleepy face reflected back at me, but a dark corridor, candles burning at sconces set in the walls. It is like I am walking forward, in the world of the mirror. I catch a glimpse of a staircase leading down from the corridor. Then, like a switch, the candles in the mirror flicker out and I am back in complete darkness in my bedroom. I scramble for my phone, switch it on, shine the display at the mirror and all that is there is my Christmas present, a slightly scratched, antique mirror. To be continued? ;D Creepiest Christmas present: Spooky old mirror.
Aunt Debbie Halloween
Yes, one of the previous posters is creeped out by plain white buttons.
Kristen
A doll that looks like you a la Coraline, just showing up mysteriously under the tree. I think dolls are SUPER creepy in general, and that is one of my favorite movies. The idea of a mirror world with a spider-esque woman who wants to sew buttons on my eyes? Terrifying, but fascinating!
Aunt Debbie Halloween
Wow!
Aunt Debbie Halloween
An acquaintance? Gave you one like her father was buried with? OK, maybe don't hang out with that person...
Diana Rose Lindahl
My husband and I have a running (and sort of sick) joke that perhaps one of us is only a figment of the other's imagination. Someone that our subconscious created to help cope with the stresses of life. For certain, the most NIGHTMARE gift I can think of is this: We wake up on Christmas morning and all is heavenly and right. We pour our coffee, sit down by the beautifully decorated tree with our three lovely kitties. There's a box under the tree that is lovingly written for me: "to my dearest wife." I open the box and in it is the perfect gift. Straight out of my dreams. I surely couldn't have picked out something better myself. It dawns on me that this gift is indeed very familiar. I recognize this. Wait -- I purchased this. I wrapped this. This was all me. Trembling, I look up and my dear husband is gone. My cats are gone. They were, in fact, never there. I have finally realized it. My husband, my cats, my beautiful life; it was only my imagination. I am alone.

Tammi Harris-Crocheted Atrocities
Your work does a Secret Santa exchange, and you receive an absolutely beautiful box wrapped in red velvet paper and adorned with black satin bows and dried roses. The tag on the box simply reads, "With Love". You untie the bows and remove the lid of the box, noticing what looks like odd, red-brown scratch marks inside the lid. Nestled in black tissue paper within, you find what appears to be a box of the finest chocolates in the world. You excitedly take the box out and open it, eager to taste this magical gift. Written on the protective paper under the lid is another note that reads, "Hope you enjoy the variety." You remove the paper and reel back in shock and horror when you find not exquisite confections, but various fingernails in each slot where a candy should be. Some are painted, some are plain, some are masculine, some are feminine, with bits of flesh still attached to them - obviously ripped right off of their original bearers' fingers. Then Christine McConnell pops into your office and says, "Surprise! Merry Christmas!", and you realize that you are the recipient of one of Christine's incredible, edible creations. You have a good laugh about it as soon as you're done crying and shaking.
Tass Lerion

A beautiful, intricate locket with a lady's picture you don't know.. You think it's absolutely beautiful so you wear it but something doesn't feel right. Over time, you don't want to wear it any more but can't seem to bring yourself to take it off. You look in the mirror and realize you don't look like yourself and your behavior, likes and dislikes seem foreign. One day you realize, you're in your body but you can't do what you want to do. The locket now contains your picture and the mirror reflects the face that once lived in the locket.

The creepiest gift I could receive would be if I got a beautifully wrapped box with a little bow, and inside is a severed finger. On the finger is the most gorgeous 3 carat vintage diamond engagement ring. Slowly, with growing horror, I realize it is my own finger, because of a distinctive scar on my ring finger.

The creepiest thing I could think of receiving is something I never vocally asked for... the scene in The Little Princess when the two girls wake up to a literal wish come true: a breakfast buffet enjoyed while lounging in luxury robes and slippers, all set in a gorgeously remolded room of bright sun yellow furnishings. The room previously was a dingy cold dark attic and the girls are being punished unduly. Very good book, movie, fantasy and dream creepy gift! To remind myself of the magic in that scene, I made my own velvet, sun yellow pillow covers with blue tassels. Much love and fond thoughts-Hanna
Cori Espelien

We have a family tradition to provide 3 gift choices so that other people may choose from, so mine would be: 1. A time machine device that requires half of my remaining life to function but that would take me to any time I would like to go. 2. A victorian haunted house where I could live in company with some spirits and hopefully my departed loved ones. 3. Animal skeletons that my crush would had collected for me when his patients died (he is a vet).

The creepiest present to me would be if my gift of a DNA test would have the FBI show up to my house needing to collect more DNA because I came up as a hit in the GEDmatch data base as a possible close relative of a serial killer they are trying to nab! I think my heart would skip a beat and I'd wonder which family member it could be: Grandfather/mother, Parent, Child, Brother/Sister, Aunt/Uncle? I feel for the people not only who lost loved ones to the crimes, but also the people who's reality is now upside down knowing their loved is a monster.

I always thought a framed picture of the back of my own head taken from a empty corner of the room with no windows would be a doozy!
Rachel Pop
I dont think there is anything in this life that if someone gifted it to you is creepy. Most things are either considered creepy due to the nature or societies perception. Since most people put thought into gift giving it is all about perception of what you recieve when you recieve it and your personal experience. Also everyone has a different idea of what creepy consists of.
Annie Skinner
A beautifully wrapped old timey Christmas record, but when you go to play it, it plays the song jeepers creepers and as it plays it starts to go slower and slower and the music distorts. It plays until it’s so slow that it stops and then all the lights go out.

A creepy present I’d love is a regal jumping spider, despite my past arachnophobia I’d absolutely love to own one. I’d give them lots of treats and bugs to eat. At taxidermy otter would be fun, or an entire bear skeleton. I’d don’t have room for one but I’d still love one. A creepy unpleasant present would be a severed foot in a running shoe. With a bow on it.

A box of pictures of me sleeping and just generally photographs of me completely unaware I'm being stalked or photographed
Josephine Doyle
I know you would probably love this, however my unusual fear is...buttons. Like the gross plastic ones you use to do up clothes or craft a million things from if you're a sicko. I hate them. I refuse to hold them. They make me so angry even talking about them puts me on edge... I'm picturing one of them oldy worldy grandma tins with biscuits on the front. You know, the type you shake excitedly awaiting it's baked innards? But alas!! The thing is full to the brim with bright, shiny, cavity ridden plastic monstrosities. The slow spine chilling horror of submerging your hand into that tin of doom. I'm aware this is most people's idea of a great time, not sure what childhood trauma has led to this. This would creep me out for the rest of my existence but to be honest, would be peak 2020. Have a fantastic Christmas, to you and your family.
Jerry Moore
A China clown doll, but when i look closer it is actually a China representation of me. Embroidered into the fabric on the ruff is the date of my death. (I blame the hot chocolate I have just devoured for this pretty terrifying image I now have in my head!)

I unfortunately had an experience that involved a creepy gift. An acquaintance of mine gifted me a crucifix necklace once, it was gold and beautiful. So, even though I’m not overly religious I was touched. Especially considering we didn’t know each other well, it was very sweet that she would give me something so nice. Come to find out later she had given me the twin of the necklace her father was buried with. I still can’t wear it now that I know.
Thommy Deah

I loath this doll. My mother's sister bought it for her after I kept saying how creepy it was. Lol. She then would get mad when I would comment in how creepy it was. I hid it in the attic at one point.

Some people would probably love this gift, but I'm terrified of crickets, so an antique cricket cage would be pretty creepy for me (I'm also phobic of blood tests, so I wouldn't really enjoy receiving hypodermic needles either)
Emma Burke
Creepiest present for me would have to be a tie between victorian hair jewelry, and that diorama in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History with the human skull in it. Both are equally unsettling for me.
Hayley
I had a dream awhile back that I received a photo of what will eventually kill me but I had no idea when it was going to happen. I woke up sweating with a racing heart! That dream still scares me today so I would say a photo showing you how you were going to die is the creepiest gift you could receive 😟
LeRoy Humphrey
The present that would be real creepy to receive would be a burial plot in a cemetery.
Diane Chattaway
Creepiest Christmas gift I could receive... Besides one of my kidneys wrapped in ice when I had gone to sleep the night before with both... I think the creepiest Christmas gift I could receive is one Like the one I plan on leaving when we leave our home. (Sell) I have an old antique baby bassinet basket filled with haunted dolls that I bought on Ebay sitting in the rafters behind the entryway of the top attic/bonus room. I plan on setting up a package to be mailed the following Christmas after they move in. With a homemade journal, and a map. The journal being entries from children the crone witch who used to live there used to keep locked away. Their recounts and ghost stories on how each time one of them disappeared, a new doll appeared and was placed in the basket. The map will lead to various things I have buried in the yard that leads them eventually to the dolls in the rafters. I love creepy gifts. I would find a gift like this spooky in all the best ways. I sure hope the new owners of my home when we decide to move on, like spooky gifts too.

It would be terrifying to receive a set of Victorian gloves, from an estate, that are dyed a beautiful vibrant green color. As you wear the beautiful gloves in the snowy weather to holiday parties and caroling, you begin to noticed that your hands are sweating and the room is slowly becoming brighter. You are feeling nauseous and your hands start to hurt. Before you slip into unconsciousness, you admire your beautiful green gloves. Later the coroner tells your loved ones that the antique glove you received from your great aunt were dyed with "arsenic green" and it slowly leached into your skin. They would have returned the gloves to your family, but they seem to have disappeared from the morgue. Merry Christmas!

My Mom loved to donate to different animal missions. So one year for Christmas she donated to a Wolf Foundation in my name, They sent a bracelet made of wolf hair as a thank you Christmas gift from my Mom. I put it on and wore it while she was here but I couldn't get that thing off fast enough after she left. Totally creeped me out and was also very scratchy. I didn't realize wolf hair was so coarse. My Mom was always looking for strange and unusual gifts for me. I love all things Victorian/Edwardian and, I guess, in her mind that meant creepy things because they did things like necklaces with fancy works of art made from the hair of a dead person.

i wake up to a note, my boyfriend nowhere to be found. “merry christmas, come to the closet for a surprise,” the note reads. confused and groggy, i wander over and open the door. i hear rustling amongst the rows of clothes in front of me. a smile begins to form on my face, assuming my boyfriend is going to jump out and try to scare me. his hands emerge from between the clothes, holding a small box, perfectly wrapped. i start to laugh, telling him to come out. just as i reach for the box, i hear my boyfriend’s voice from downstairs.

A piece of junk from a yard sale with the thought that it was something I actually wanted and liked. I had this happen from my wife’s grandmother who sold a lot of things she thought were antiques most of which should have been on the way to the dump. It was something that didn’t even make sense given it was some piece that went to something else like the disks to the old records or a vhs head cleaner when I have neither. It was kind of creepy because I had to act like it was something great, while not understanding the logic behind it.

This small, peculiar gift appeared as if by magic under the tree, after Christmas had wrapped and company had left me on my own, just before the stroke of midnight. I picked it up, unsure yet curious of where it came from, and carefully untied the satin black ribbon and peeled back the matching paper to reveal a small wooden box with an eye carved into the top. The box appeared to be beautiful, familiar even. Upon opening the box, I saw a brass key, ornamental in design, sitting atop a blood red cushion, with no lock to open. "Is that it? Did someone leave this behind by mistake? Surely this key must have meaning for somebody else." Then it hit me. I recognized the eye that was carved into the box. I had seen it before when rifling through the old belongings of my new home's former residents, carved atop a chest, and tucked away in a dusty corner of the manor's carriage house. I threw on my jacket and boots, and hurriedly braved the gusts of wind as I crunched across the snow to the entrance of the carriage house. The door creaked open as I entered and quickly slammed shut behind me. I reached for a match and lit an old oil lantern, casting its amber light across the room as shadows danced in the corners and branches rapped against the window from outside. "Ah, here it is." I brushed away the cobwebs and pulled a heavy, worn, wooden chest from the corner of the room. The eye carved into the top matched that of my mysterious gift exactly. I shoved my hand into my pocket and withdrew the brass key, pushing it into the lock, and turning it with a trepedatious fervor. Click. The key had worked. I lifted the lid of the chest and held the lamp over its contents as the musty scent of mildew washed over me. Photos. The chest was filled with photos, old ones, tattered and stained at the edges, all stacked neatly as if being presented to me. I began flipping through them. They appeared to have been taken on this property, old owners perhaps. Groups of people working; families dressing up in garb of another lifetime and posed together; candid shots of life around the house. Then I realized something. I pulled the light closer and felt my breath leave me as stillness filled the room. This was me. These pictures were of me. I grabbed another fistful of photos from the chest and scattered them across the cold floor. My hands shaking, I inspected them and confirmed my thoughts. An old sepia photo of me in the yard wearing clothes I don't own; an even older grayish-blue photo of me holding up a child I don't recognize; a candid shot of me under a tree in the backyard cemetery which still stands today. "How could this be possible? These photos appear to span across multiple generations." All I could hear was my heavy breathing against my pounding heart. I looked closer and began to notice another similarity across the scattered photos, a haunting pattern. I was the only person who was staring at the camera. No, staring through the camera, back at me. In every one. I withdrew stack after stack from the chest, only further confirming my horror. Groups of strangers, families, and children all seemingly unaware of any photo being taken, but my face contined to glare back at me, almost scowling, in every shot. Something about my expression seemed so unnatural. I sat there through the night, unbothered by my body turning cold, fueled by my need to understand as I flipped through every photo and back again. It wasn't until the sun began to rise that I packed everything back into the chest, lifted it into my arms, and scurried back into my home. I didn't have all of the answers yet, but one thing was for certain: this was the creepiest Christmas present I could have ever received.
Ioanna

Denise Osborne
A furby. The accompanying card gives instructions not to get it wet or feed it after midnight.

I always thought the idea of memorial jewelry to be both creepy and touching. I lost my best cat friend and familiar last year just before Christmas. A memorial pendant that could hold some of his ashes or a lock of his fur would be both creepy, and very sentimental to me.

A stuffed version of my yorkie who passed away in June. Just an oddity I'm gifted from an estate sale down the street. Except each night I can swear that pieces of him were feeling more real.. and the strange noises start soon after. On the 13th night, a loud bang is heard and I rush to the source. Behold, my yorkie Gizmo is alive! Turned out the estate owner was a witch. She had seen my grief and cast a spell where my tears could resurrect my soulmate. The toy had the corpse of my yorkie she had sewn inside it. Each time I cried over it.. the body became more alive. There is still some stuffing and thread attached to him but I love him nonetheless ♡

Picking up a box that is slightly wet on the underside and then opening it to find one of my tattoos in the box then I check my body where that tattoo should be to see a huge section of skin missing and I’m bleeding and not understanding how that happened and how I didn’t know about it. The worst/creepiest present is no present 😂 even if a present is something gross (or if it’s just something I don’t want) at least someone was thinking of me I guess??? And as long as a gift is wrapped nicely, I don’t really care what’s inside because I just love opening packages- if someone took the time to wrap an empty box- then that’s creepy 😭
Kristina
A gift box containing old family photos, but as you look through them you notice a sepia colored photo of your great grandmother as a baby, and the man holding her is your husband, and he looks exactly the same as he does right now.

A diorama of myself and family doing exactly what we are doing at that moment with an ominous figure lurking and watching....
Gingerpuffs
There is a gift with my name on the tag but not who it's from, and when opened it's a hand painted canvas. And the scene is exactly me, holding this painting, all the details correct down to what I'm wearing, who is around, what they are doing and everything in the room as it is in that moment. But at the painted window lurks a deathly figure through the open curtains... when I look up at my window, the curtains are closed. Shall I open them or do I not dare...
Vanessa Garcia
For me the creepiest Christmas present I could receive is the true identity of Jack the Ripper and letters or evidence proving it, showing he was somehow related to me.
Heather Turner
The creepiest gift I could receive would be a lovely pair of pearl earrings, shaped and polished from the teeth of dearly departed. They lay atop a red velvet hair stuffed pillow. Inside a human flesh leather box. Tied neatly with a red silk ribbon.

The head of my dead husband, in a beautifully giftwrapped box with a bow around it
Steph Cummins
I got a picture collage of myself from a guy I had talked to in a forum online( we only talked once) It looked like he had hunted down a variety of my social media things to get all the photos and then edited them together to make a collage. It wouldn’t have been that creepy if we were friends and he had access to the photos without much effort. But the time and energy put in to it for a person you’ve only talked to once was super creepy.
Rachel Kilgore
An old and tattered envelope, sealed, containing a card with nothing written but my name and a single future date. Not too soon, but not too far off into the future so that the anticipation builds to a maddening crescendo as that moment finally comes...

Happy Holidays Christine! Loved the spiders! My creepiest present was a Furby. At first I loved it, but it started laughing randomly and talking without me interacting with it ... it freaked me out so much that I buried it in my closet under other toys, but I would still hear it laugh. So, eventually it found it's way to a donate box and far away from my house.
Shae
A Christmas blue jay from my childhood that cheeped. My mom found it in a box in their attic. Figured it would love to have it. She shipped it to me. I was taken back when opening because it had somewhat slowly melted from the Texas heat and its chirping had become demonic sounding. I quickly placed it back in the box.
Nelia Torres
A photo of my late husband holding today’s newspaper.

When I was younger there was a talking doll named Julie. She was programmed so you could talk to her and she’d respond. I wanted her soooo badly and was super excited to get her for Christmas! Well, Julie came out around the time Child’s Play came out and my cruel older brothers decided to call her “Girl Chucky”. That made me *terrified* of her and I didn’t want to play with her! I would hide her behind my other dolls. 😬🤣🎄

Picture this if you will- a box wrapped in red and to perfection shows up under your tree... who’s is it? No one knows ... on the tag is your name in calligraphy. You open it to find a book, hand-bound. Inside you see photos of your childhood and Christmas past. Something odd about the photos though. . .All of your family are in them. Who could have taken them? As you keep flipping the pages the photos go on every year of your life ... even photos of private moments .. who took these ? How? As you reach the final page you see a photo of you asleep in your bed safe and sound ... wearing the same pj’s you wore to bed. You pull the photo and flip it over. The date written on the back yesterday night December 24th .... there is no more room in the book....
Mike Czaplinski
