I love clocks. Can’t wait to find an old one to recoup! 🕰

Movie and project rec: the house with a clock in the walls and restoring a cuckoo clock but replace the bird with something terrifying like the devil face in the movie!!! ✨👹

Loved this episode! Thank you!

I lived with my dad and his girlfriend for a while. She had an old cuckoo clock in her creepy library. My bedroom was on the other side of the wall from that clock. Every hour that dam clock would go off cuckoo cuckoo...... I hid the key that you had to use to wind it. He found it! I think the ghosts put it back. I was sleeping so peacefully then heard the clock go off again. I love clocks have a few old ones that are silent....lol
Elizabeth Higley
You gave me the courage to repair my late grandmother’s clocks. When she passed, she had over 200 clocks in her home. Her home sounded like rain from all the ticking. And when they all chimed it was an Orchestra of bells and cuckoos. I have clocks from 1700s- 1940. I got one clock that was made in Hungary circa 1900 working yesterday. And I bought a non working grandmother clock this week for $60 because now I have the confidence to get it up and running. Thank you for this video! You’ve given me the opportunity to restore my grandmother’s presence in my home .
Meg Barwick
This video was SO soothing! The ticking gave me tingles up my spine. The Grandfather clock reminds me of the one my grandparents had on their wall when I was little.
Michelle Tawney
Insanely impressed.
Cesar
Your patience is out of this world!
Jane Duprey
Where do you buy your clock parts? I just purchased a vintage 555 brand pendulum clock. It’s missing the pendulum and the key. I’m struggling to find what I need online.
Michèle-Andrée Cromp
That was exquisite!
Michèle-Andrée Cromp
Now I feel more confident to tackle the family's clock
Absinthia Venamortis
My own little black kitty snores too ☺️ you can never have to many beautiful clocks 🕰
Ashley
I love this sooooooo much and now i want to do this!!!
Cora Kathlea
Hi Christine! I love this video! I recently purchased an old German Cuckoo clock, and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing a list of the oil and cleaners you used for your clocks. Please and thank you!
Kristin A
This was an amazing video!!! It seemed so soothing to clean and repair those clocks. Made me wish I some antique clocks lying around to spruce up :)
Lauren Downard
Wow!! This is the best video you've done so far - I've always been interested in clocks but never got an antique one for myself because I never would have known how to fix it. Now I might have to buy one and give it a go. Seriously amazing work, I love seeing it Christine! Btw, your cats snoring over the chimes at the end cracked me up😹😹
little taosenx
This is thoroughly delightful!! From the wonderful tinkering and the beautiful visuals to the snoring kitties. An absolute joy!
Olga
This was so wonderful to watch! There is an antique clock in my family with a marble face that I hope one day will come to live with me but I am considering trying to get one and bringing it to life like you did now :D
Amanda Williams
Does anyone know what brand of gold leaf she used? The one I got is too light. :)
Kassy W.
Maybe now I can get my Seth Thomas working again.
Suzanne Robinson
This is an awesome video. Thank you!!!! I have a grandfather clock that doesn't work (from my childhood home). It never occured to me to try and fix it myself. You are a rockstar!! Thank you for inspiring women! Plus I love the way you did the creepy clocks ticking all at once. So cool!
Kelsey Rothe
Does anyone have the YouTube link to this? I’m trying to watch it on my tv :) thanks!
Karmell Mazurek
hahaha the cat snoring!!! gold!
Nicholas Frig
I have one of those big old clocks as well! Well, we call it big old clock. Because it's big...and old. From around the 1820s. Mine has a painting of a ship on it, though. I do not think it is original, though. I love with you did with the gold paint on the glass with yours! I love that old paper on the interior. It's super beautiful the way you did it and brings the focus onto the gorgeous clock itself. I wouldn't paint anything further on it. It's perfect the way you have it now!
Darla Goodwin
What an incredible video! My absolute favorite, as I too, love clocks and have several.. You are an inspiration for me to keep checking those flea markets and vintage stores. Thanks for sharing your passion... I learned a LOT just watching you today.. <3
TanyaLashea
How fascinating, I've never wanted a beautiful wooden clock more. Love your work!
Ruby Topete
Favorite episode so far!
Kari
Archimedes snoring is the highlight of my day!!
Leigh Anne Baller
Great video. Clock restoration wasn't something I really thought about before this and I found it so interesting. Thank you for introducing me to yet another new thing!
Paige Phoa
Absolutely loved this episode. I just paid to have my 1895 Regulator from Germany oiled, but I believe I can do it myself now. Thank you for always being an inspiration!
Melisa
Really interesting! Thank you for another great episode!
Brenda Luyten
witchy photo!
Morgan Godwin
Because of your video, I am now the proud owner of a beautiful antique mantle clock ❤
Judy Campanella
Just watched this episode last night before going to bed....so relaxing. My husband has been an antique clock collector for sometime but he hasn't really done anything with them. I'm sharing this excellent video with him. Beautiful work on the glass for the wooden clock!
Ace&Otis
The snoring at the end!!😆 Also... I use loupes with a headlight for dentistry, I highly suggest a pair for you. Designs for Vision come in cute frames, lil pricey but a good investment.
Lori Ratcliff
I also really love antique clocks. I have one mantle clock that I inherited from my grandparents and a grandfather clock that I bought second hand, I had to hire a repairman to come to my house to get it going. Now it works perfectly and I have to wind it once a week. My house isn’t really big enough to have a lot of clocks that chime.
Tracy Thomson
Kudos to your Captive for the awesome cinematography. You two are the perfect pair!
Aaron
You may need to adjust the pendulum. It took a while for me to get mine to the right length. From what I understand, it's always going to be off 1-5 minutes so don't expect perfection. http://www.theoldclockworks.com/service/how-to-regulate-the-time-of-your-clock/ Your pendulum may not look exactly like this, but it should have some way to adjust the length.
David
Um ... what did you call her? 😉
David
This girl is “cuckoo ... cuckoo”
Donald Bois
with all those clocks ticking away it reminds me of the first scene of back to the future.
Dispatch Master
This episode was so great. Furiously searching for mantle clocks ☺️
foof
I really enjoyed the spooky music!
The Lady Kwiller
Both?? XD
Sarah
You are too cool for school, Christine.
Kori Brittain
Was the glass clock missing it's door pull? It looked like it in the final shot but wasn't certain.
Linda Switzer
Wonderful! Wow!
helen crawford
I thought it was the cat?! :)
Margaux Allard
This was extremely interesting!!!! LOVED IT!
The Lady Kwiller
Oh my gosh, the dog snoring at the end just killed me! XD Lovely job on the glass painting. That turned out quite lovely.
Samuel Gomez
can't wait to tune in and watch this later tonight
Daniel Klingler
Is there anything you can't do Christine!? Love your attention to detail and your passion to restore these beautiful clocks. Look forward to your next video!
Tamara Nelson
Really enjoyed. Thanks.
Heather Brown
Another great episode, thank you!
Christina Zavala
Wow this was amazing 🖤The patience and steady hand to paint the glass just Wow!!!!
DeeDee Wood
The study of "time" and clocks is called horology, and a person who studies time, ie, repairs clocks, is called a horologist....so, Christine, you are a horologist! (Very few women in this field, so brava!)
Suzana S.
Finally got to watch this episode and loved it. Antique clocks are fascinating, and the glass painting you recreated, or re-imagined, looks amazing.
Melissa Farrell
Wow I did not have any interest in clocks going into this video, but I found this fascinating! Thanks for sharing :)
helen crawford
Are we not having a livestream this month?
Damn-it-Janet
This was fantastic. I'm inspired to find an antique clock to restore. Will you still do an antique frame restoration?
Chrissy Jackson
I also have this clock which looks a bit like the one you added gold leaf to https://www.instagram.com/p/CKjHnV0j5Un/?igshid=110rzvxxb9cbb
Chrissy Jackson
https://www.instagram.com/p/CKjHGdjjutR/?igshid=7d2xxf31y1gk for those of you who would like to see the painting from the clock
Kit McElvar
Love! Can you do Victorian hair art tutorials? I saw one on the wall in your house tour.
Erin Anderson
I love all the episodes but this might be my favorite of all
Lady Barronmore
My mother had a cuckoo clock just like that she bought in Germany. After 10+ years the chain started slipping off the gears. It was such a pain to get back on she eventually went out and bought herself a new weighted clock with easier mechanisms.
Clare Buswell
Beautiful episode, loved every minute! You did an amazing job on the painted glass, stunning! Thank you for inspiring!
Sandra Martinez
I want to see it too!
Melissa Pinilla
Have you seen The Repair Shop on Netflix? I think you would really enjoy it!
Melissa Pinilla
My stepdad had a clock repair shop. I worked for him fixing and cleaning clocks for a while. I had to take the clock apart sometimes, replace broken pieces and put it all back together. The spring was always so scary to put back on! Clock repair is a lovely, but dying art. Love my clocks I was able to get having my pick of the ones nobody ever picked up!
Gina Mustico
What a marvelous, entertaining video! Your work on the clock enclosure glass is stunning, especially the sampling of its various ornamental elements in Photoshop. I was wondering how you keep your cats from playing with the chains on your cuckoo clock...
Amanda Williams
I loved this so much! And I know others have said, but I'm worried your green Victorian wallpaper may be the poisonous type. Please be careful! ♥
Michelle Greenhouse
Great restoration work Christine! Clocks are time's heart, and you've brought them back to life! Great work! <3
amy eckler
My father restored antique clocks as a hobby and he would place pennies under one side of a clock to even it out. One of his favorite tricks was to set an alarm for a random time and scare us all to death
Paulette Mickle
I absolutely love all things Antique, Vintage, etc. Ive always been the type that I could go into an antique shop and just get lost for hours being mesmerized by the beauty of antiques while learning all about there history and so forth. This was a really amazing episode Christine 💜 I also loved and enjoyed seeing the inside of the clocks 🕰 and let’s not forget the adorable snoring at the end of your precious fur baby 🐾 so so cute!! 🐈 Thank you for sharing this beautiful episode of these antique clock restorations 🕰 I cannot wait to see what’s in store for your upcoming home projects 🤗 Lots of love
Punkrockcatlady
I'm loving the baby snores at the end. The absolute best!
Maggie Proffitt
Hearing music that sounds like i am being hunted down by a vengeful ghost, but the visual being a vary pretty lady gently and slowly cleaning a clock is making me feel a certain way, and I think I like it.
Lynnetta
I loved this episode! It reminded me of The Repair Shop (available on Netflix). The kitten snores at the end made me melt.
Gincredible
Love it! This has definitely reinvigorated my desire to buy an Art Deco clock, especially if I can save money by (hopefully) fixing it myself. Would really love if you had a continually updating text-based master tool list -- tool, brand, and product/version number, possibly grouped by all-around tools and specific taskers, updated with each new project? Would be a great help to avoid searching comment threads, and searching for the tools outside the US.
Chelsea V.
I love old clocks so much! The way they work is just so fascinating. I always have to stop and admire them when I find one in an antique shop; but I think you've given me the inspiration that I need to pick one up and get it working again! Would you ever consider doing a video on restoring old sewing machines Christine? I have a Singer treadle machine from the late 40's/early 50's that I restored and use all the time (the only sewing machine I need, it can do anything!) and I would be absolutely over the moon to see you work on one from the early 1900's...or even older! They are incredible machines :D Thanks for the amazing videos as usual xo
Gincredible
Sounds like prime time to befriend a glass-cutting spy type!
Iana Nelson
When I was a child we had a cuckoo clock that looked nearly identical to the one in your video. I don't know if it was made in Germany like yours or not, but my step-dad was German so it would not surprise me if it was! Sadly it got destroyed during one of our many moves in my teenage years. I can also attest that if the chain came loose it was a real pain to get working again. It also sometimes got knotted up and that wasn't much fun to fix either.
Elizabeth Goans
I have my great grandparents clock that needs to be restored. So excited!
Chelsea Dreibelbis
Thank you Christine for posting a new video and showing us how to restore old clocks! I am currently living in a home built in the early 1800s, and am also a huge Gothic- Victorian fanatic. I will be using your videos as a guide. You inspire me and are truly amazing and talented at seemingly everything. Love it!
Christina P Brooks
I have an antique ogee clock with beautiful painted glass. It hasn't worked for as long as I've owned it. You've inspired me to take a look and see if I can get it running again. For some reason, I thought a professional was needed. It's worth a try!
Christine McConnell
Haha! Not a bad idea! I'm a big fan of museum wax for things up on shelves for this very reason :D
Scribby Scribner
Im ready to restore the world! One clock at a time ♥️ Who knew somebody could actually bring things back from the dead. You Christine, are a grave robber. What a great super power ;)
Racheal Jones
And now I know it's a gingerbread clock! I had to stop it again. Kitty too curious about all that ticking and mine is not attached to the wall. :)
Chandra Lewis
My mom has an antique clock that my great grandma inherited from a witch she was friends with. Now I want to see if I can get “Maggie’s Clock” to work. Thanks for the info and inspiration!
Cora Kathlea
The snoring at the end with the ticking clocks was the cutest thing ever.
duke knight
This was so delightful, and the music/soundscaping was wonderful! Thank you.
Isabel Bowen
Holy crap this was amazing!
j
I thoroughly enjoy all of the extra images (the kitties, the antique images, etc.) in the video. Professor Poof adds a lot of character to the videos and makes me smile every time. I also appreciated the glimpses into how you use Photoshop. How do you create the faux antique image photographs i.e., take modern images and turn them into antique photographs with period hair and clothing? Thank you for sharing your art, I really enjoy your unique creativity and style. You've inspired me to jump back into creating art.
Amanda Pavel
I loved this episode!! So Magical and cozy. Learned so much! Now I need an old clock. Thank you for the content Christine! 🕯🤎🕰🧸🪶
Brooke Redmond
Drive to Bouckville in Madison County. I can imagine you exploring these shops. I especially love you and your captive’s portraits around the weighted pulley clock, we have the exact frames as those so now I have some great plans for what to put in them! Thanks for inspiring me, love it! Be well and look forward to your home renovations 🙂🤟🏼
Brooke Redmond
I loved this episode, it reminds me of the Netflix show the repair shop. I just love old clocks, they remind me of my grandparents. Christine you said you found some of the clocks and their items at local antique shops there are a few near you in Ilion such as Little Falls or make a driv3
Grizzles' Humom
If i just had even a pinch of your patience I would be just fine. This was a very fascinating episode. It is so nice to see something so complicated demystified. Looking forward to the next episode and seeing more of the mansion. Thank you so much!
Christine McConnell
Hello Bobby! I find the foil gives a true metallic (high shine) finish, whereas a gold paint has a slightly dull quality once dry. I'm so jazzed you liked the episode :D
Christine McConnell
AGH! That is one of the prettiest gingerbread clocks I've ever seen!! This completely made my day :D Thank you so much for sharing!
Tammy R Dowden
This is so wonderful! Just the other day, I was thinking, 'I wonder what Christine's been up to', and here you are with a new video to dazzle us all. I always enjoy seeing the house and all of your fur children. The clocks are amazing, but I really loved the old-timey photos of the cats, and of you and The Captive! Can't wait to see what you'll do next! P.S...is that Archimedes snoring at the end?
Racheal Jones
I loved this episode. As cute as your outfit in it was, I imagined you in one of your long, Victorian dresses (like the one in your portrait in the end!) working in a clock shop. Maybe Mystic Clock Shop? :) Then, of course, you became a Time Mistress able to affect the universe through your very specific tinkering and repairs. I knew you couldn't resist going that extra, artistic step and the Photoshop and the painting gold on the glass was wonderful. Nice to see your captive so prominently featured and his new music is wonderful. Was the ticking part of the music or truly all those clocks ticking around you? I also like seeing all the animals, especially sweet Archimedes who is so white and fluffy now. Nap baby. Thank you for another great episode!
Racheal Jones
Christine, thank you for this episode. A clock I inherited that I assume couldn't be working due to the state was in - is now working. I think because I nudged it and set the pendulum going. I didn't even have to wind it. Attaching an Unlisted video to show you all. :) https://youtu.be/pn8gpNxIx18
Debra Palermo
The clock episode was hypnotical and magical at the same time. The cats are showstoppers. Thank you for sharing.
Bobby Champlin
What a great episode! I’ve been wanting an old clock, but it just never happened. This has reignited my interest in acquiring one. The gold foil on the first clock looked amazing. Is there a benefit to using the gold foil as opposed to a gold paint? Or is it more for aesthetic?
Racheal Jones
I love how both the cat and dog are getting blamed for those snores? Who is it??
Racheal Jones
And all that winding...
Racheal Jones
Yes, so excited for big house projects!
Racheal Jones
Thank you for working in a hospital, Vanessa!
Lauren M
I love this episode 😻 The clocks, the sounds, the music, the cats 💗
Chrissy Jackson
I shall send you a photo via Instagram
Christine McConnell
OH my gosh!! 100% YES! :D
Jessica Darne
That was so fun! I’m such a nerd about trivia and random information so I loved learning about your clocks! Now I want to do some more research on clocks, what makes them different, etc...Thank you for the educational opportunity! Also, let’s talk about how your kitties love to steal the show! I love how they all come out when you’re working and get nosy! That Professor Pouf gets me every time! ❤️
Willa
Your videos are always so inspiring, thank you! I am going to clean my studio and get started on something creative.
Chrissy Jackson
I have the same clock as you with the painting intact. Would you like me to send you a photo?
One Chance Fancy
This is so cool. My grandfather was a clocksmith and I grew up listening to the sounds of ticking clocks, chimes, and cuckoos. How very nostalgic this was for me!
Gail J Marmet
This has inspired me to finally fix our wall clock that fell a few weeks ago.
Mary Horning
I agree! someone it doesn't matter what topic her episode's cover, watching her process and skillful craft is mesmerizing!
Mary Horning
I completely agree! and love your word choice -- whimsical! yes!
Mary Horning
This was a super delightful episode -- thank you, Christine! I especially enjoyed the soundtrack accompanying this episode -- it hit the right mechanical, chime-like, musicality that was perfect for clock restoration! You and your "captive" are a wonderful team! P.S. the cat snores also made this episode particularly wonderful
Sophia Z
Thank you for adding the photoshop steps! Just cool to watch you!! Sometimes the simpler stuff is good to show us a little insight :))
Christine McConnell
I actually asked the framing place if I could bring in my own glass for this very reason and they said no :((( I totally agree with this suggestion though and maybe I will invest in my own glass cutting equipment :D
Jessica Pray
Why did I think there would be some ancient batteries in these clocks when they were being opened up 😂 loved this video and the soothing cat snores!
Caroline Draper
My great Grandfather repaired clocks. Now I need the shops to reopen so I can go hunting for old broken clocks to fix 🥰
John Strain
To add a little more authentic look to the clock glass replacement......you might use old period glass that has flaws for character. Easily found at antique shops.
Christine Hillesheim
Oh my gosh...at the end when the babies were snoring my pup Stanley came running from the other room to make sure there were no intruders sleeping in his chair! Great episode!
Lorena
This is lovely and inspiring, though the music was intrusive - I wanted to hear the clocks! p.s. snoring kitty is so cute!
Breanna Fisher
Wow so beautiful! I have a passion for clocks so this makes me so happy 🕰
Rebecca Poplewska
😂 This made me laugh. Can you change the frequency of chimes for antique clocks?
Kathy Ann
When I was a teen my mom brought an antique schoolhouse clock. She was thrilled...well until she realized it chimed ever fifteen minutes and she couldn’t sleep. After it ran down she never wound it again!
Jasmin
Out of all the things you’ve shown us on your shows, this somehow impressed me the most! Wearing the pocket watch was a nice touch too :)
Monique Nicole
This was the coolest thing! Makes me want to tinker around with old clocks. LOL.
Kimberly Olson
I learned so much! This makes me want to find a beautiful old clock ...
Kat Barlow
Miele are the very best vacuums! I’ve had mine for 14 years, and I am still so happy. I consider myself The Wicked Witch of the Pacific Northwest, and that machine is my broom!🖤
Amanda Williams
That was perfectly wonderful. Thank you!! :)
Mononoke Adams
Very entertaining, Christine. Loved the episode and I will watch again, and again. Happy New Year btw. We give our best.
Katherine
Ah-mazing. The painted glass replacement and the gold foiling were so clever! Top it off with fantastic music and cute snoring creatures and it can't get much better than that 👍 I have a different version of the weighted cuckoo clock in my house that the chain came loose off of but finally cleaned and fixed it today with the video inspiration✨
Sandra Martinez
Yes! I also thought that learning how to do the “vintage portraits” would make an excellent future episode or craft-along. I would love to learn how to do some of her photography art!🤩
Sandra Martinez
Oh Christine, you are so generous, thank you so much!!!❤️
Alaina
New music? It's beautiful as always regardless. Fantastic episode (as always )
Camilia King
Question. I've been the $7 tier and I'm still trying to figure out how to see the notes, patterns, or anything for the projects. Can someone explain where to look for these? Thank you. :)
Dan De Young
I’m always in awe of your talent. Thank you so much for these videos and the joy it brings me. (Also, the new themes (presumably from the Captive) are excellent!)
Liana Palumbo
OMG!!! So inspirational and just AMAZING 😍 Sooooo excited about the upcoming house renovations too xxxx
Brittany Bedwell
Right! You too? Thought it was just me!
Brittany Bedwell
Most relaxing episode yet! Ty! I kept falling asleep and waking up and rewinding. The aesthetics of your music and whole vibe relaxes me so, like I’m watching old time movies
MecaniqueFairy
First of all, I loved this episode. I love antiques and the old clock (especially old pocket watchs) and it'll be very usefull since I've received from my grand-parents a very old clock when they moved. So thanks for that. And second, I have a question from a friend of mine who follows you on youtube. Are you going to post a video to youtube again or is it just for patreon now? Thanks again, you're always super inspiring!
Trina Montano
the car snores at the end 😂😂
Suzanne
Christine, is there anything you can't do. I'm amazed at you.
Josephine Doyle
That was such a great episode! You should consider a Christine asmr episode, all that ticking, fiddling and dreamy camera work had me super relaxed!!
DMCM
I can hardly wait for the house restoration episodes. I’m especially looking forward to the hand painted wall paper. I always admired the wall paper in the California house 😊🌿🌺
Stephany
Amazing episode as always!! 💕🙌

Is there anything Christine cannot do? Fascinating.
Judy K. Zamlen-Spotts
I love the gloves, something a cat burglar would wear!
Judy K. Zamlen-Spotts
Oh my goodness, two of my favorite peeps restore clocks! Doc Martin and Christine McConnell. This was such fun and delightful. (I borrowed the word from Alyne de Winter!). TY
Lisa Thibeault
Thank you Christine! I have a clock to work on. Love the recreated old pictures! To do that is on a list of to do’s- maybe a future episode?
Vi
The snoring at the end of the video was an amazing end to an already amazing showcase of clock restorations 😍
Noni
I love vintage clocks. This was a delight to see!
Lisa Ames
Beautiful work! I have never seen Gold leaf used before - it looks amazing! I also saw a frame I had just bought at a flea market in the end scenes - oval with a bearded gentleman. I need to clean it up though. Love your work Christine! BTW - welcome to NY!
Brenda Hunt
This was great timing for me! I'm moving soon and will be getting my grandfather clock out of storage which needs fixing.
Alaskan Rock Vodka

I love clocks and have collected some unusual ones. After seeing the original Time Machine movie they enchanted me. I also have a time machine I have created,I just can’t seem to get it to work tho! 😂 I enjoy your talents and your perfection and your furry assistants.
Carla Perea Seminaro

Ramblin Wreck
Amazing!! 🤯
Alyne Whiteswan
This was delightful. Thank you so much, Christine! Your patience and careful work is amazing and fun to watch. And in my next life, I want to come back as one your cats.
Annelies
Loved this, so interesting and it took me back to my grandparents and their wonderful clocks. There is something comforting about the gentle ticking and chiming.
Simón J.
Woah, this was super interesting! Not gonna lie, clocks aren't my cup of tea, but this was super interesting to watch, there's something so steampunk about clocks and their mechanisms that I love, and that glass intervention with all of the photoshop and painting was amazing! I love how you bring things back to life! I'm looking forward to see what you do with the house!
Nicholas Frig
Fantastic! I have been collecting interesting looking clocks for a while now with the intention of one day repairing them, but I had no idea how. Now I see that it's probably not as scary of a task as I was making it out to be! Thank you so much!
Christine McConnell
I didn't even think of that, but I 100% will now :D I'll post a list of items used in the next few days and will include the graphic I put together :))
Christine McConnell
This is the one I like and have used for years, although I'm not sure if an actual clock repair-person would have a better option... https://www.lowes.com/pd/3-IN-ONE-Multi-Purpose-Oil-8-oz-Long-Lasting-Lubricant/3240440?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-hdw-_-google-_-lia-_-214-_-automotive-_-3240440-_-0&placeholder=null&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=CjwKCAiAr6-ABhAfEiwADO4sfVmRt3gEWgx74aFgxKKTTBWVkLQWRzPXoj4OTDnNlXJMfXWzJ5pvchoCzZIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

What type of cloth did you use? Terry or micro fiber?
Kera Buker
This was amazing! Makes me want to go to my local antique store!
Cecelia Breslin

Danielle Gutierrez
Christine! I mean ...Wow! What don't you know how to do? 😆 The computer graphics and then painting it on the glass was so very impressive. You never cease to amaze me! You will definitely not run out of occupation ideas. Can add Mrs McConnell's Tick Tock Repair Shop to your list! Amazing work!🖤💜🖤💜
Nelia Torres
What oil do you use to oil the clocks>
Charlotte Gautier
Ohhh sooo satisfying to see them come back to life! Any chance you could share the glass painting design ? 😍

Loved this so much!! May I ask where you got your goggle light lens thingies? My eyes would love a pair of those 🥰🥰🥰
Melissa McCrummen
Loved this one! So excited for the house restoration! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for future content!
Michele Couture
Christine, this is inspirational! I have wanted an older clock forever, and I'm learning to adapt your attitude of just giving things a try. So awesome. Thank you.

Weird timing because I myself have been getting into clocks lately. Just bought my first wall weight clock from the 60’s that we go working. Love the chimes. If you love fixing broken stuff, you should watch “The Repair Shop” on Netflix. It’s this cute little cottage in England with all these different trades people who fix broken antiques and heirlooms. It’s perfect for you.
Kate Ragon
This is so cool! It's also good timing because Bill Nye's most recent episode of Science Rules is all about time and watches/clocks! He interviews Rebecca Struthers (master watchmaker and horologist). https://www.stitcher.com/show/science-rules-with-bill-nye/episode/the-greatest-invention-of-all-time-is-time-200213991

This was fascinating, thank you!

Anyone else reminded of the load screen for Alice: Madness Returns because of this video? This was a fascinating video! I honestly understood little about how clocks worked and I learned so much from this and you restored them all so beautifully. The way you created the decal for the glass on the bigger clock was genius!
Mina Murray
This made me realize what a dearth of clocks there is at The Manor.
Vanessa Jaramillo
Yay! Thank you Christine. Im at work in the hospital and cannot wait to see this when i get home!!
Michelle Lofthouse
Thank you for another wonderful piece! Clocks are like family members as they all have their own personalities. I am about to embark on painting the glass on my kitchen clock and this video is so 'timely'. The one in my care is a Seth Thomas metal series #2. I found several rub-ons that you can buy to put on the glass but none of them match the original....so I'm going to attempt creating my own. Thank you SO much once again for sharing yours and your captive's talents. Truly an inspiration!

At first I wasn't sure how interested I would be in this episode, I like old clocks, but I didn't think I had any real desire to fiddle with or repair one. I was SO WRONG. This was a really interesting episode and the clocks were all beautiful. I have a bare fireplace mantel and I cannot wait to go searching for a cool old mantel clock now. Great content as always! <3<3<3.

Not gonna lie, I was not really interested in a clock restoration video when it was first announced, but by the end of the video, I was sold! I am actually thinking about giving an old clock new life now!
Bonnie Coniguliaro
And also the timing is way off we tried to get the bongs to go with the hour and half hour but it just would not go together any advice would help I will attempt the cleaning and greasing.
Rez NYC
Yes!!!! We missed you! So excited!
Bonnie Coniguliaro
I am going to attempt to do the cleaning but am afraid

My grandma left me a 8 day time/strike New Haven Gingerbread clock it has not ran in awhile don’t remember how to wind it but as I was dusting the mantle the Pendulum started to move all of a sudden it Bonged for 10 hours straight I stopped the pendulum it stopped have not touched it since. My question is how do you wind it ? And how do I know if it’s still not wound?

Mr. Biggles watching the clock was the best...And the Gerti snores at the end..Priceless

Thank you so much Christine. I have a cuckoo and kitchen table clock that I have had serviced in California and when we moved to Washington they stopped working. I've never had the confidence to go inside them which is usually not me as I am an artist too. But with your tutorial on these it really helps me feel better about it. They are a piece of history and I feel confident now that I can get in there and help them work again. The key is to take your time and enter their world, not force yours on them. These pieces are alive. I also love the idea of adding a service note as well as personal history which both of mine have. Thank you! Sufi

Absolutely outstanding work! Is there nothing you can't do!? ❤❤
helen crawford
That was just what i needed a real pick me up waiting for me!! Thank you so much Christine and Captive, i especially love the photos of your 'ancestors'! I was thinking of buying a cuckoo or grandfather clock the last few weeks now i am much more informed! Love your work!
Genevieve Fernety
This was a very #satisfying episode 😌
Kerry Feely
Thank you for thus video! I acquired a Sessions mantle clock a while ago and after watching this I've had the confidence to look inside where i found the pendulum and the key! The key won't turn so i think the mechanism is frozen but now i have a tiny clue what's going on with it and can ask the right questions
Alexa F
Christine, is there anything you can't do?!?! 😍

Sherrie Potgieter
I am so excited about this episode! My niece and I are at Disney world right now and can't watch, but we did see that the cuckoo clock you're working on is the same clock my mother has!!! I've had it sitting away, hoping to restore it and now, because of you, I can!
Sandra Martinez
I’ve been checking in constantly to get my “From the Mind of Christine McConnell” fix.... I just finished watching it and absolutely LOVED EVERYTHING about it! Just when I think your episodes can’t get any better...I fall in love with your magical world even more! Thank you! 🥰❤️
Kelly Phillips
This came at a perfect time. Before my Dad passed he never taught us how to look after his clock collection. They all have just stopped working. Now I can get them back into working order! THANK YOU!!!

I can’t wait to watch this later this morning! I have a beautiful Victorian mantle clock I’ve been wanting to fix for ages since I bought it. I hope at some point you’re able to do a Victorian lampshade DIY! Really want to get back into learning some new skills this year 😁
Sara Menge
Yay, so excited for this video! I binge watched all of Christine's videos when I joined patron and have been going through creative inspiration withdrawal!
