Vintage To Vixen
Christine, it looks to me like a 'seersucker' type fabric. In the summertime (1980's) we used to wear beautiful flowy type skirts. I wanted one in black; couldn't find one so I made my own that was over the top with a corset lace closure. If needed, it's great for layering . In the iconic 'From The Mind' fashion, broke out the black fabric dye in black. I think I had to dye it multiple times, but in the end. I was very happy with it. Talking about this makes me want to make one again.
Alexandra Valdez
I loved this. You and your captive are adorable, Christine! And you never fail to make me giggle.
rachael
oh man i miss autumn ๐
Jasmine Gomez
I have a tendency to let videos pile up so I can binge watch several together. This was such a great craft! I know my captive will be really jazzed to make these together (perhaps many for a Halloween display like you suggested). I love quick, fun projects like these with y'all!
CriCri (smthingfantastic)
I love these more "doable projects" - it's nice to see ones that seem like something I could conceivably manage
Maggie Walsh
Iโm late but this was so wonderful!! Love a nice relaxing, fairly easy project once in a while ๐
Jamey
That was wonderful
Patience Carlson
This is awesome!! I watched this after Halloween, but now I have lots of time to plan for next year. ๐
Katherine
I went on a supply run to Joann's today and I realized that the fabric is probably gauze ๐ธ
Aimee Graham
Lovely! Is the fabric muslin? ๐ป
Toni Garcia
Love this!!
Piper Robinson
Super cool! Btw, what is your nail polish color? It's the perfect shade of dusty pink
Tanya Madrick
Love love loved this!!! So fun to watch the complicated projects & then feel like Iโve seen one I could try!
Emma Baxter
I had a great time doing this project with my kids! The mask turned out a bit too terrifying for the school party ๐
Cee Fee
I love this โฆ. Iโm absolutely going to make this
Anthony Osburn-Day Foundation
Loved it!
Bri Emme
omg please! if anyone has a discord link!!!
Rosa Falciano
I absolutely love this project. Having 2 daughters who are into cosplay! This is the kind of project we can do as a family ๐
Sarah Cortez
Are we going to get to see more of your beautiful house?
Lucie
If you were able to dye it, it's most likely natural fibers. A burn test can help narrow it down
Nicholas Frig
I have made several of these since the video and I can say that without question my dogs love to get to them once cooled and chew them to hell. Just be careful because they make a good chew toy as well, I suppose. I am going to have to remake them again tonight.
Cora Kathlea
I loved all of it. The end though was my favorite, seeing you itch his mustache really made me laugh, because my husband is the same way. ๐น
Leslie Langenegger
Your captive is such a good sport!
Courtney Barnard (Wiher)
That was so much fun to watch!
Sam Hussey

Love this!!! I love everything you do honestly, and your captive is very cooperative. I donโt know how you donโt laugh when heโs in there. My captive and I would laugh hysterically.
Peaches McDrools
I love this project - but please donโt stop making your outrageously beautiful and intricate - Leonardo Da Vinci level works of art!
Blondiewood
This is such a great project and one that anyone can achieve!
Sarah
I love the creepy! More creepy, please!
Carl P Crossgrove
t want to sound negative, but it's such a delightful improvement and it seems to perfectly suit your esthetic! Please give a shout out to your lettering artist for the new graphic. It's great work. Hope to see it in video intros too.

Can't wait to make a mask!! Loved this so much!!
Lena Hall
I donโt know how you keep a straight face when the captive grunts lol. I think itโs so awesome you found someone who is totally on the same page as you regarding your aesthetic etc :) xo. This was awesome Iโll definitely be trying it this weekend as itโs a long weekend for Canadian Thxgiving. As much as I love the longer projects, I love the shorter projects too. Itโs nice to have both to watch :) Iโm grateful for whatever you do for us but am super excited to try this as itโs more my talent level lol.
Gina Williams-Stith
Super scary mask ๐ฑ Also, your captive kind of looks like CM Punk.
Sarah Bear
I love these kinds of projects. I'm going to make some with my husband.
Carmen G. P.
I also created mine. Check it out on AmyPsycheโs crafty corner on facebook if someone wants to see it. :D
Morgan J Brittingham
Great October project! Someone may have already answered your fabric question in earlier comments that I havenโt yet seen, but regarding your unknown fabric, my best guess would be moss crepe. Of course itโs so hard to tell without feeling the material, but if youโre wanting to confirm fiber content you could always run a burn test!

First off. Be warned. This is a messy craft to do. But also satisfying. The non-stick spray and light dusting with flour worked perfectly. I've completed my first mask of my comedy and tragedy masks. The material I use was Muslim. It didn't seem to have the stringing issues that Christine was having with her mask. So I don't know if it was the right material or not. The only problem I had was the mass did not Brown in the oven. Perhaps I didn't keep it in there long enough. But it was nothing a little bit of paint wasn't able to fix. The only other tip I can give that I just discovered is wait for the mass to dry completely. That way when you do the drilling of the holes work a lot better that way. I wish somebody who had a better knowledge of things would create a discord page. That way we can show up our creations. Sadly the comment section does not allow us to post pictures.

The Captive: The Man in the Hand-Made Mask. Funny you ask if the mask was comfortable for him while he was wearing a straight jacket ...
Brandi Sahlfeld
It is p incredible how scary-looking these masks are with minimal, everyday supplies! Excellent. I also wanted to say how much I appreciate the way music is used in your videos. It creates such an ATMOSPHERE and every time I hear one of the pieces I genuinely get goosebumps. I love that sort of tick-tock mad factory noise! The new logo looks great too! ๐ค
Jenna Windham
Awww... love when you include your captive
Gwyn Ronsick
After seeing the incredible wood carving you did for the dress form I've had another idea for your wallpaper production......... You could carve wood blocks in creepy but beautiful patterns then negotiate with a wallpaper company with the right equioment and set-up - like Adelfi Paper Hangings .com to use their press. They do Block Printed Reproduction Wallpapers with wood blocks and antique presses. Talk to Christopher Ohrstrom

Cecilia
dang Christine you got kinda dommy-mommy vibes with the captive in this episode
Tyler Young
Natural cotton Gauze! I've purchased that fabric so many times from Joans! It made a great summer beach cover up and hippie pants. I love to get it in white or cream and dye it fun colors. It takes color so well. Hope that helps! Love ya'll!
Taylor Johnson
Terrifying and brilliant!
Moth Maiden Creations
Love this and will definitely be trying it out!
Kaitlyn
Love you and the captive! More videos together please !!!
Katie
Mask is cool- highlight of the episode is Werewoof spazzing out. I definitely went back and watched that about 5 times before I could keep watching the rest of the episode. Also- Christine didn't miss a beat. I probably would have gotten distracted and sliced my captive lol
V
Yayyyy the captive was featured!! The product was awsome โค๏ธ
Sara Sweeney
Oh my GOD! I love this. I canโt explain to you how much I love this and also, your captive is extremely beautiful. This has made me so happy โบ๏ธ
janet lynn white
I feel like you simply must make one of your own face, make it smooth and beautiful, and create a head for your mannequin.. maybe, do the skull and neck in cardboard, then attach the mask. ..while the ingredients are out :)
Geoff Durham
Love this mask! I feel like I could write a whole screenplay from it.
Kitty Lang
This is awesome!! So creepy I want to make one!

Rachael Gater
Great.... Am almost finished making the scarecrow from last Halloween and now I want to make masks!!! Who needs sleep....
Dan De Young
Regretting my quirky habit of watching these videos before bed. That mask is definitely going to end up in a nightmare tonight! ๐ฑ
Sandy
This looks so fun! The mask reminds me of the creepy burlap mask from The Orphanage movie. For one Patreon episode, you should do an outtake/blooper reel.
Alice
Nice straitjacket ๐
Stacey Rowell
Loved this and your captive was awesome!
Linda
The mask was really cool! Whoever thought you scare someone with simple pantry items ( other than knives). Can't wait for October.

james ortiz
this is amazing!!! i did similar technique once for a scarecrow mask once using cheesecloth and liquid latex instead of the paste and it still has a nice flexibility to it that allows the mouth to move. anyway- i love your stuff! happy halloween.

A hundred years in the future, the footage has been lost. Some poor soul explores the basement, comes across these โskinโmasks, and a new era of scary stories about the twenty-first century psychos is born.
Abbie Frank
That was awesome! Thanks! Easy, yet effective way to scare the bejeebers out of the neighbors!

Great idea! I loved the little snippet at the end. Thanks Christine!
Rebecca Shipman
OMG! Loved this episode! So FUN! ๐ค
Genevieve Fernety
A fun way of figuring out if your material is natural or not is to burn the corner a little bit. If it smells like burning plastic and melts at all (like the burnt part has little hard globules) there's a synthetic element to the fabric. If it smells like burning hair and turns to ash- its all natural. I think we'll need more info to figure out the exact fabric- a close up of the weave pattern would give us more insight.
Heather N.
Love this!! (Also the clip at the end made me laugh because I kept wondering if Captive got an itch while filming ๐)
Kathleen Ledoux
Love this project! Definitely something I will try, thank-you ๐

Does anyone know if the Captive's music is available for purchase anywhere? It would be such great background music for setting a Halloween scene!

Oh Yay! Captive gets a brief moment without his muzzle. That's sweet, you are such a benevolent keeper Christine ๐ But don't let them get too used to it. Keeper's safety first, after all, who would mix their gruel for them? And I adore this idea for Halloween! You guys are the best
