Thank you ! I'll do some testing, but I'm not sure about the natural ridges. These little buggers can probably jump off their mother's back, or the mother can at least put her butt on the ground :)

I love the idea of the giant motherbug! That said I wonder if you could work some - ladder is the wrong word - but some means on the body that naturally enables the smaller critters to clamber down her shell to the ground. Since they aren't going to clutch on top like a spider carrying its brood around with it. So having some kind of natural ridges, strands or something that helps the bugs take themselves down to the ground or at least get over the main curve of the body would be neat
