Donald Sutherland (President Snow), may he rest in peace, hoped these movies would inspire younger people to not let corrupted power take over which it has done. He wanted it to spark revolutions. People around the world are living through their own hunger games, and we are the capitol.

Haha, so true. I think the change in appearance is due to her wig. They changed it for this film and im not a fan
Nana-Afia
I get chills everytime the dam scene plays out. This film is fantastic

Never heard anybody say Jennifer Lawrence looks significantly different in this film other than a little more mature

isn't the condition the smell of the sores in his mouth from the poison he drinks? like finnick explains. it's been years since i read the books so i don't know if im remembering right

Katniss's house standing IS the message. Like, "here, be the victor amongst the ashes of people that YOU got killed" kind of message. Psychological warfare. So glad you're already liking it so much. It's disappointing how many people view this one as the worst one of the series. It has plenty of good action scenes but they still think of it as "the slow one "

Just for a bit of clarification. In the books, its explained that President Snow smells like blood due to a condition and he tries to mask that smell with roses (or maybe the roses themselves have that smell? Can't remember clearly tbh). When Katniss first met him in her house the first thing she noticed was that smell so that's why a single rose was left there. Also (im 20 minutes in so if this gets explained rip), District 13 was the center for nuclear weaponry so that's why they were basically left alone. It was due to mutual destruction

love that you said "i love not knowing whats going on" i get it!!! i feel like nowdays so many people complain when shows/movies don't give up all the answers immediately and make you figure stuff out by just paying attention. sometimes i think people have lost the ability to just let a story take them where its going

The next one is my favorite!
