Hi guys!
I want to give out an announcement to let you know that the sims4 modding community is being targeted by an individual who has been uploading malware disguised as mods in order to steal personal information and passwords.
as for now it only affects windows players, and it has been confirmed that the following mods have been compromised. If you downloaded any of these mods in the past two weeks, there’s a chance your information has been compromised. It is recommended that you change all your passwords immediately, especially ones for your discord, crypto wallet and bank accounts.
Curseforge has released a cleaner that will check your computer for this specific malware and remove it if it is detected: https://github.com/overwolf/sims4-social-events-cleaner/releases/tag/1.1

To recap, here are the mods we know for sure were affected by the recent malware outbreak:
"**Cult Mod v2**" uploaded to ModTheSims by PimpMySims (impostor account)
"**Social Events - Unlimited Time**" uploaded to CurseForge by MySims4 (single-use account)
"**Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu**" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
"**Seasons Cheats Menu**" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
"**Motherlode Menu**" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
"**Mood Cheat Menu**" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
"**Mouth Preset N16**" uploaded to The Sims Resource by PlayersWonderland (hacked, real account)
I recommend that you download this malware protection mod by TwistedMexi which will block out malicious mods from downloading the malware onto your computer in case you download any mods that has been compromised. https://www.patreon.com/posts/98126153

Please stop/don't use Curse Forge! It's not only based & managed in isr*l but they also obviously help fund the genocide & war crimes from isr*l!

Try Malwarebytes for all and any suspicions.
I also had this Trojan, although I didn't have any of the mods mentioned. I don't know where I got it from, but I had to format my entire hard disk and reinstall Windows. The Trojan could not be deleted by any means beforehand. :(

I am so glad; I removed all my CC & Mods that I downloaded from Curseforge before I updated them.

The curseforge one is not an anti virus, and it doesn’t work the same way as tmex’s mod guard

Thank you so much unfortunately I haven't updated the game because there are still too many unresolved bugs with the pack For rent so I can't use the Tmex mod. Do you think I can use the antivirus software on Curseforge instead?
