Modding Diary - what a crazy week

I had kind of a crazy week this week. 🥲
My week actually started on a high note. I reworked part of my script and figured it out within a day, AND I even helped another modder and wrote them a custom script. If you have been following me for a while you would know that I have been trying to learn python for ??? years now and it finally feel like im getting the basics down. 😃
Then the love&death patch came and broke basically every mod. My script was broken by it too but lucky with my newly acquired python skill (level 2 I might even say😏) I was able to fix it within a few hours and release the update.
then in the middle of the night my website went
At first we (me and the web dev I hired to build the site) thought too many people were trying to download the update because my server was getting overwhelmed, because the CPU usage was bonkers: (mind you it's normally at like 20%)
so we upgraded the server and doubled the server size, then within like a few minutes it was like that again. after a few days of back and forth we finally got it under control today😅. long story short someone (who's mother may or may not be a llama😠) used a bunch of bots that noncontinuous visited my website until it crashed. Not sure why someone would do something like that(maybe I finally pissed someone off by telling them to read the instructions), but I'm glad it's under control now. We are definitively going to be taking additionally measures to make sure it doesnt happen again.
Soooo aside from all that shenanigans, this week I worked on second part of the IV practice interaction for the nursing school update, this interaction will allow your sim to practice IV on other sims. I didn't get to put the animation in game this week as I spent too much time dealing with the website and the update, so heres some blender screenshots:
sims will site side by side at the beginning of the interaction
they will turn to each other and the player sim will ask the other sim to hold out their hand
the player sim will find a vein
and use a cotton ball to disinfect
then take out an IV needle
and carefully insert it
if it's successful the other sim will react positively
the player sim will then take the IV out, and the other sim will get a band-aid on their hand for 60 sim minutes. 
they will then return to sitting positions.
if the IV is inserted incorrectly the other sim will shout in pain and pull their hand back, and it will result in a negative interaction which will reduce your friendship points by like 2 points or something. I should have all this finished by next week.
Also
Im thinking maybe I should just release nursing school part of the update as soon as I am finished with it. this way it will be a smaller update, which means its less overwhelming, and you will get to play with it sooner (possible next month). 🤔please let me know what you think!

hi! it will likely just show the animation of one baby, I do want to add animations that supports up to three babies at some point tho!

Hey Panda! All of you work is awesome and I am so happy to see you still working on the mod! I was just wondering with the Midwife Career, since there are no animations for multiple babies at homebirth, how will it handle multiples?

That would be so cool to be able to play with a nursing school mod!!! I’m currently playing a household where a young adult swim has a son and they’re living with their grandma because the mother passed away young adult is currently in college for biology, but I really want them to join the nursing school mod that you’re doing so I cannot wait so excited!!! Thank you for all your hard work and such creativity that goes into all of your mods. You’re truly amazing modder!!

Every time I see your posts, I get really excited (my anticipation level is through the roof!). Is there a chance that in the future, my Sims could become midwives to help their partners during childbirth? If there are more sweet and caring interactions, I might just end up in tears of joy!

OK, cool, if it gives a boost to the GTW career then that makes perfect sense 😊. I can see finishing, starting at the hospital and then making a change to become a midwife later. I wasn't over the moon about the update but the more I hear about it I am getting excited. I can totally see myself having a midwife one of these days 😍

I was thinking the same thing - everybody was trying to update mods which caused your website to crash, unfortunately it wasn’t that but I’m so glad you figured it out and know how to prevent 👀 Im totally up for it 😍

Yes it will be released before the midwife career, and sims who complete the nursing program will receive a certificate/diploma which will give them a boost in the doctors career, and once the midwife’s career comes out they will be able to skip the nursing school and go straight to become a midwife

Sorry to hear about the bot attack - that's awful 😟! As for release, I will never turn my nose up at new content, but would releasing school be minus the full career at first? If so it feels a bit like a dead end, because there's nothing else you can do with it other than become a midwife, right? Just a thought.
