Modding Diary - Nursing Exam

Hi guys! Hope you all are well!
This week I worked on finalizing the nursing school program. And I added a nursing exam that sims must take at the end of their third year before they can get into active clinical rotation. This was partially done because I needed an interaction between the third and fourth year since the first three years are rabbit holes and the fourth year is an active "career", and merging the two wasn't feasible as the game doesnt seem to support half active half rabbit hole "careers".
so once your sim enters the third year they will receive this notification
and you will also receive this note binder in your sims inventory
you will need to study it for around 16 sim hours ( or 8 hours if you have another sim help you) to pass the exam.
I added some new studying animations
after each study session you will get one of 5 moodlets
other sims can help you study, this works similarly to the "help with homework" interaction
and it will put your sim in a more focused/inspired mood which will double the speed of their study
You will know your sim is ready for the exam when you see this moodlet
then you can go take the nursing exam
if they pass they will get this notification
and they will be put into fourth year (excuse the schedule, its not 7 days a week I was just testing stuff)
and they will get this moodlet
But they can also fail if they didnt study enough
which will make them sad. However you can take the exam as many times as you want until you pass!
And that's all I have for this week. Im hoping to get this update released sometimes next week! There are a few more loose ends I need to tie up, and I need to figure out a way to make the nursing degree have an impact on the doctors career (im thinking a pay multiplier and a career level boost), and once I make the midwifes career obviously you will be able to become a midwife.

I figured it out! I didnt click on "take final nursing exam". As a nurse myself , it would be real that at the end of the fourth year that you have to take another final nursing exam. It could be like the state boards you have to take to become a licensed nurse.

My sim is on day 4 of third year school. She completes all tasks every day including completing the notebook study for exam. How does she progress to year 4?

I have a question about this. Will you go on from this career and make it into the midwife/OB career or is it just going to be nursing? Also, it would be so cool like in real life, have a option to let your sim send their baby to the nursey if sleep is needed.

This is great. Good thing it's not so complicated that they would have to be licensed for whatever world they took the exam in. If they decided to move to another world they would have to take their boards all over again to be licensed in that new world! Fun, huh? Lol! No, the detail you are putting into this is outstanding! β€οΈ
