Modding Diary - Pumping Milk At Work + Non Romantic Bed Birth

Hi guys!! Hope you all had a fantastic holiday season π₯°
I took a little break over the holidays and ate lots of good food and hang out with my families and friends. It was a much needed break and I am so excited to be back to work! π
Some of you might remember from my last modding diary that I wanted to work on an option that allows sims to pump milk at work but I said the script would be a very clunky and it wouldst work with any cc careers. well well well, it seems like my level 1 scripting skill levelled up to level 2 just in time : D it took me a few days but I was able to create a script that gets the job done in just a few lines of code and the best part is it should work the vast majority (if not all) of cc careers π
as long as your sim is lactating you will be able to click on their work icon and ask them to pump milk
and if they had a successful pumping session they will come home with milk bottles in their inventory at the end of the day
Honestly being able to get this to work makes me so happy. Working on python scripts might be my favourite things to do right now, I still have a long way to go and so much to learn but Im enjoying every moment of it .π₯°
The other thing I did is that I made a non-romantic animation for the bed birth animation. This is something that has been requested by alot of players for a long time. The non romantic animation will be used by non romantic partners or midwives. The animation is similar to the romantic one but it is less physically intimate.
Disclaimer: my sims are wearing bathing suits so that my post doesnt get flagged as NSFW on patreon and on my website; minor adjustments are still needed so you might see some clipping
sims will start the animation at the usual spot
instead of kissing their forehead, the supporting sim will hold the birthing sims shoulder while talking to them through the contractions
they will then get on the bed and hold on to the birthing sim's arms
then the baby is born
the supporting sim will get off the bed once the baby is in the birthing sims arms
they will then stand next to the birthing sim to check out the baby
and hold the baby's head for a moment
the birthing sim will snuggle the baby and kiss them on the forehead
and that's the whole animation : D
Next week I will polish this animation a little more, work on the sound effects, facial expressions and create the interaction.
I also made a bunch of bug fixes this week which will be published next week, here are the bugs I fixed:
fixed 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'owner error related to collapsedLung
NPC sims who are invited to the hospital should no longer leave immeidately upon arrival
added piemenu icon to iv practice interactions
fixed an issue that caused the practice IV interaction to not show up immidately unless the lot is reloaded
made an attempt to make llamaze instructor's outfit less random, they should now show up in their everyday outfit instead of wearing randomly generated outfits.

Thank you for replying i hope that is something that can be done also what about unassisted birth on the bed without a partner as well? Thank you also making a "cheat" for nursing school I was having a hard time with it and getting alittle frustrated with itβ€οΈ

unfortunately its not possible to make animations like that right now, but hopefully I'll be able to one day when my scripting skill gets better

Thank you so much for all of your hard work!! You are so talented!! Would ever do a "cut umbilical cord" or "help hold legs" animation? Or something like that? A mommy and me class would be cool too! Either way, always excited to see what you have going and working on!!!

This is wonderful! I had a question out of curiosity. I have this mod but my sims aren't pregnant (in fact I have never had a baby in the Sims 4, much like in real life I'm just not ready lmao). I saw that the milk has a quality on it. Is there a way for sim moms to produce "excellent" or "poor" milk? I have been reading along through your journey but I do not think I saw anything about this. I just wondered since it said the milk was normal.

I love this I'm glad you are well I was thinking I hadn't seen last weeks post would it be possible at some point to make the pool animation where it can be more romantic without the midwife?
