Modding Diary - Urinalysis and treating Preeclampsia

Hi guys! hope you all had a fantastic week! : )
This week I began working on the active midwife's career, and I started working on the urinalysis and its diagnosis. Urinalysis can be used to detect Preeclampsia which some patients may have.
After collecting the urine and placing it in your sims inventory you will be able to click on the analyzer (is that what its called lol can't remember) and analyze the sample
You will get a notification showing the result and giving you suggestions on the type of treatment to consider. In this case the patient has a mild case of Preeclampsia.

And you will only need to ask them to keep monitoring their BP

After you deliver their test result and give them the recommended treatment you will get their response through a notification. most of the times they are appreciative
occasionally they will sound annoyed
if their urinalysis shows they have moderate Preeclampsia you may need to perform blood pressure test to further investigate their symptom

their blood pressure might be normal, high, or critically high.
in this case the patient has high blood pressure
you can choose to either prescribe them with medication or advise them to just keep monitoring their conditions.
Lastly sims can also have severe Preeclampsia, which is something I need to work on next week. In these case you will need to put them on IV to lower their BP, and if their BP doesn't drop after IV treatment you can either try a different medication, or perform an emergency C-Section. Im thinking I should make it so that that patients could potentially die if they dont receive the correct treatment on time 🤔but im not sure if that's too much. Let me know what you think
I hope you all have a good weekend!

Omg I can't wait to play as an actual midwife in the sims, I've been waiting for awhile now for someone to actually make a really good functional mod. as a midwife.i absolutely love your work, you just have pure talent you just made my dream come true thank you ❤️❤️
AllaboutMe_
Yes I already have those mod, I would like to know it in order to have more dramatic consequences for sims also playing a pregnant sim
Patricia Martinez
I would love to be realistic!. BTW LOVE LOVE LOVE all the work you do :)
BrownSuggy24
As a midwife and caring for patients with this condition; maybe you could consider Eclampsia, when they have the seizure and may have a coma and be unplayable for a few days - in game, while under treatment before the death option, since that is rare?
Antonette Jefferson
how do I download it
Katie Hernandez
Love for it to be super realistic as possible❤️
TAWANNA PARKER
i WOULD LOVE AS REALISTIC AS POSSIBLE. i LOVE YOUR IDEA AT THE END, SO KEEP THE REALISM GOING.

As a doula and RN planning to return back to school for nurse midwifery, Im super stoked about this update!!! Cant wait for its release. It would be fun to have breech births in this update or have the moms stay in the hospital for monitoring.
PandaSama
That’s correctly! It ties into the next update indeed
PandaSama
I love this suggestion!
PandaSama
I think Ill make an enable toggle and make death disabled by default, that way people won’t be surprised if they don’t read the instructions or forget to turn it off
PandaSama
Hi, this is only for the career. If you want sims to have pregnancy illnesses I suggest getting health care redux by adeepindigo or RPO by lumpinou. Both are amazing mods and with very detailed pregnancy related complications etc. I don’t feel like I have anything else to add since they both already done an amazing job
PandaSama
I agree!
PandaSama
Hi, are you asking if that’s a feature from my mod? If so no, my mods don’t have anything to do with fertility
PandaSama
This technically don’t have anything to do with the preeclampsia in HCR, cuz there’s no symptoms, you are just testing and treating patients who have the “condition”. Also I don’t think NPCs can have preeclampsia in HCR 🧐
PandaSama
I’m working on that!
Ashley
What about if they have to stay in hospital till delivery or bed rest? Love your work!
Gen
Would this preeclampsia be compatible with HCR's preeclampsia?
Makavia Sims
Hi, may I know if creating a male Sims character leads to infertility and low test sperm count results?
Cynthia
Love getting this updates. You keep outdoing yourself. If you keep potential death or still birth though, you might need to also add an addon for the people who prefer to disable this feature in their game since it can be a very touchy and triggering subject for some
AllaboutMe_
Would it be possible also for pregnant sim to have problems or only a medical career event?
AprilSmiles
I wouldn't mind potential death or stillbirth now I know that might be two different updates. Take your time, I enjoy all the realism you add to my gaming experience. But I also agree with the disable toggle for some triggers or trauma that may make it to real for others. Usually you always provide options to make everybody comfortable and that's one thing I absolutely love about you work. Thank you for all you do, and I can't wait to play it when it comes out.

Death or still births
Morgan
first of all i just want to say that i love all of the realistic and accurate additions you make to this mod! i am a mother/baby RN and work closely with L&D and you are doing a superb job with the realism! 👏🏾. keep up the good work! i also want to add that maybe for the midwife career you can add the addition of breech babies. with breech babies sometimes doctors/midwives can help “turn” the baby so that the mother can have a traditional delivery. however sometimes it isn’t always successful and it can end up with a scheduled/emergency c-section! i think this would be a great addition if it all possible!
Morgan
i think this would be the perfect balance!

This is great. I think, for better or worse, the chance of death should be part of it. This is realistic birth after all 😟. I'm sure you'll have a "turn if off" toggle, or Adeep has a "death disabler" optional add on package for HCR for example. Also it ties into the next update, right? I thought after this stillbirth is where we're heading next?
Ashley
I love this update! I personally think any deaths should be toggled/optional for people who may have trauma/triggers surrounding that topic.
jordan brumback
It would be interesting if it resulted in stillbirth.
Starlite
Loving what you are doing so far! I am ok with there being a potential outcome of death, but if possible, maybe have a toggle to disable that outcome for those who don't want it
Burg M
I love this! With death I think it could be kind of too sad? But also some people may enjoy playing with that aspect.
Nikki F
Since potential death is a possibility IRL, I can understand it's addition. But would there be a way to make that optional (maybe in settings) as it maybe traumatic for some?
Elizabeth Tyler
Oh this is neat and I agree with the potential death if untreated
