Modding Diary - Postpartum Care And House Calls
🕑 Added 2025-03-07 23:38:56 +0000 UTC
Hi guys! hope you all are well🥰
This week I worked on some postpartum interactions and I got started with the house call career events 🤓
After giving birth the patient has a chance of developing postpartum hypertension or postpartum hypotension. postpartum hypertension is again treated with Labetalol and Magnesium Sulfate, but postpartum hypotension requires a blood transfusion.
you can perform the blood transfusion by clicking on the patient sim

and their blood pressure should return to normal after treatment. failure to provide the necessary treatment within 200 sim minutes might result in the patient collapsing and maybe even dying (still need to work on the dying part)💀

I then worked on the house call career event. You will randomly see this popup sometimes during your shift. I

you can click on the front desk to attend the house call

it will bring you to a random sim's house, and you sill find a patient in the house who's in labor
you can greet them and perform dilation check
Next week I will work on stuff like checking on the baby, suggesting the in labor sim to perform various activities to speed up their dilation and eventually delivery the baby. 😚
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Will there be a changes with stillborns added ?

Is this all something my Nursing graduate sims will experience once they get a job as a doctor? So far, my sim hasn't had any patients going through these situations, only the normal objectives and actions from the base game doctor job.

Would there ever be a way in the future to make a sim do an animation that makes them more dramatic when contracting especially around 8cm when you transition you kind of lose it abit 🤣 in the UK alot of the time we don't have epidural and tend do give birth on gas and air and we are quite noisy, I did 4 of my own births natural and was at 2 friends births and when 8cm hit it gets hard! Absolutely loving this mod as always I only play the sims because of this mod what you have done over the few years is absolutely incredible

thank you for your answer back so soon about your husband being your nurse regards Johnboy
PandaSama
Hi, unfortunately no. That’s not something you can do at the moment
John Morris
Can you have your husband when pregnant as a nurse when has had nurse training or cant be a family member
Toni Hawthorne
I am kinda thinking that my sim won't get pregnant/give birth until this mod is complete! Don't worry, I am loving every moment of the journey!
PandaSama
you are too sweet! thank you my friend 🥺
PandaSama
thank you so much : )

hi! im hoping to have this out as soon as the beginning of April but it could end up taking a few weeks longer, its really hard to say right now
PandaSama
Hi! yes but I will have to add that in a later update after, for this update its just for the patients.

As a mother & fellow Simmer who plays your mods & who just so happens to of had, Post Partum Eclampsia (same as pre-eclampsia) just was undiagnosed throughout my pregnancy, and didnt get diagnosed until I literally was pushing her out my whooha. I had all this extra postpartum care and I too think, it would be awesome to add this into the child birth mod, but as we are the patient.

would it be possible to add the postpartum hypotension/hypertension to be playable? like our sims can have this complication not just our patients? love your mods so much by the way!!

When will this come out? Just wondering

So cool! I've played through a couple pregnancies pretty close together recently and it really reminded me how much better your mod makes things (not to mention how much work YOU'VE done over the years to add to the experience) - I know I have said it before and I will probably say it again 🤭, but I will never be able to thank you enough for making pregnancy and birth better in this game 🥰
