My Ender still has some extrusion problems as seen in the photos. I need to find time for some tinkering,

I agree, although I don't think the hot end will solve the extrusion problem, it is more likely the extruder, I imagine.

Microswiss all-metal hotend is the bomb! Haven't had a clog or extrusion issues since I installed it and that was months ago.

I don't know if this will help, but I have an Ender 3 and I've tackled extruder issues with it a few times. First thing I check is the nozzle, then I check the bowden tube (mine's been partially clogged many times) then I clean the interior of the hot end, then I check the extruder lever for cracks (they're usually on the underside of the lever and not visible if it's a plastic extruder lever and can make all the difference in the print quality.) I've also had extruder lever springs get compact and fail, so replacing the spring may help. Sometimes the hot-end actually wears out and has to be replaced (I did that once) but also, sometimes, the extruder issue can just be a bad batch of filament. I've had Hatchbox and Overture Pro both send me absolutely crap filament, and they're two of the best brands, so it happens intermittently. Have you tried increasing the temperature 5 degrees? Sometimes if the hot end is wearing out, a temperature bump up of 5-10 degrees can make it work well again. :)
