Underpainting and basing.
🕑 Added 2021-12-14 19:54:07 +0000 UTCI get asked so much I thought I best put it here. I use the Vallejo dipping formula. But paint it on!
Mix it 2 parts brown one part black…..it’s not an exact science. Add a bit of water just a dash.
I base onto metal washers with rodent dust (the kind they bathe in) superglued on.

Thanks, Vallejo oil washes? And sorry for the barrage of questions.. what brushes do you recomend to apply them?
Oh yes this is just the base I use. Its normal acrylics on top of that when I fully paint a model. Though I am experimenting with oil washes and trying to use less colour to be arty! ;)
Do you paint with other colors on top in certain cases? Washes?
Oh yes I should edit the post to say I paint it on don’t dip it! Though that may work.

I had no idea Vallejo made a dipping wash. Now you have added more things to my "stuff I have to buy list" 😂
