I'm stuck with 3Ds Max for now, but really want to switch for Blender! And yes, we model a lot ourselves, but can also make an occasional asset purchase, and even hire someone to model for us if need be.

Yes, we do, over 3D scenes most of the times, as seen here, for example. But we also use photos here and there.
