I've a change of plan coming but first let me lay some evidence on you. Not that I want to turn this into a "misery-porn" post but it's just trying to assure you that I'm not actually spinning a tale. I've supported devs myself who seem to have had more bad luck than if they'd run over a bag full of black cats whilst driving under ladders and had the health of an eighty year old living rough under a damp bridge.
I am though really quite poorly and, as you'll see from the (understandably redacted) sick note below, I'm not going to be well for a little longer yet.
(EDIT. Originally I popped up a redacted copy of my sick note up here but I confess I was getting a bit worried about having it up even in that state. The dates would have made it fairly obvious should anyone from work have breezed by. Unlikely I know, but unlikely things can happen!)

Who would have thought something so simple could turn into something so utterly, utterly horrible. If the primary illness hadn't been bad enough, the secondary one is even worse as breathing is most difficult which means trying to do anything is near exhausting for more than a few minutes at a time. (it didn't help that the doctor was most smug that the secondary infection was probably due to me being a smoker. There is a time and a place for rightousness...)
It's all turned into somewhat of a nightmare - not only for this little project ( I could weep at the loss of momentum especially as Chapt Three was damned well near done in March as you can see from the previews etc) but also in general as I tend to get paid by the hour worked on projects by the office, so I see a lot of beans on toast in my shopping list for the future :(
That, however, is my problem. Not yours.
So why I am prattling on so? And what is the change of plan?
Laying in bed all day (which isn't as much fun as it should be...) I found myself wishing it was the 9th March not the 9th of May - and then I realised I could actually make that happen. Well not literally of course - but certainly to the extent that this sorry episode has impacted on you.
You see I might well be a ditz; I might suffer from overstretch and I might even be a bit of an idiot - but I'm not a crook.
It sits uneasy on me that people have given me money in March, April (and even May although I swear I tried to put the project on pause so that didn't happen) and have got bugger all for it. I don't like it. I dare say you don't either. It's not fair to you - and it's damaging to me in a way. Arguably it wasn't my fault, but fair words butter no parsnips, no?
So I'm going to give that money back. All of it.
You see the deal was you gave me some money, and I gave you a chapter. Now, you don't have that chapter so why should I have the money? I can't think of a reason, can you?
So, in say a week or so when I can handle being upright long enough I'll refund everything for those three months. Hopefully I should be well enough towards the end of this month to tidy up Chapter Three and I'll pop it up for the start of June and carry on from there.
Finally, I want to apologise for not answering messages, comments etc. As those who have dropped me a line before know, I usually answer instantly, but I'm afraid it will have to wait a week or so for me to be well enough to answer them all in one go. Again, it would sit uneasily with me answering some but not others (according to the little icon in the corner I have 99+ to answer!)

Well the doc signed me off until the end of the month, but I'm trying to get better before that. I reckon I have a full days work to do to just polish it, but at the mo I'm only up and active a few hours at a time. I'm going to go with start of June to be safe.

If I felt like I was owed a product for a specific payment, then, yeah, I'd understand. But this is more about supporting a creator, not the creation. So please, no refunds. If I knew you IRL you'd be getting an instacart delivery today. Beans and toast isn't all bad, but just not for every meal. And if the people in your life don't offer to help, send them my way... I'll have a little "chat" with them. Seriously though, take your time, heal your body, and know that we're all pulling for you.

First of all, your sickness sounds like it sucks serious booty, so please try to get get better as soon as possible. *sends healing voodoo vibes* Second, while I admire your integrity, I also hope you'll give us the option to opt out of the refund if we prefer. I'm only giving you a measly 2$ a month anyway, so I guess I'm one of the lesser issues here, but still, I don't really need my them back, go ahead and keep them. Use them to buy some, like, ginger roots or something. My treat. ;) I'm also of the attitude that I'm supporting an artist that I believe in while they make something I want to see more of, and I'm not necessarily expecting an immediate return on every dollar I dish out. Sure, the general conduct and productivity of the artist could affect my overall satisfaction, but so far as far as I can tell your conduct has always been honest, open, and more than fair, and the loss of productivity is more than a little understandable given the circumstances. What I'm trying to say is, in this case I'd personally actually prefer it if you kept my money, so please don't feel guilty about holding on to my modest contribution. What has been said has been well said. The pledge you've been given has either be used for the game already or will be soon. I'd rather you use your time and energy left to get better :)
You know, the other thing is, I didn't give you a monthly pledge for a monthly product. I threw you some cash because I know you'll use it to build a great project. So whether you take my money now and spend it on assets in two or three months, or whether you take it now and use it immediately doesn't really matter. I'll feel better knowing that when you come back around to working on your game, you'll have money in the bank to finance the parts you're working on and aren't dipping into your own pocket to cover the gap until the next patreon charge. So seriously, don't refund me. We're good. I know sooner or later that $10 will get used on the game, so I'm not worried about it.

I am not sure, when I reduced my pledge, I think it was at the end of March. (I mean I reduced it, because of my vacations). What I want to say is that I didn't support you to get any new chapter or so, I mean all in all I wanted to play the game. I mean it is Sci-fi and awsome. I support you for the work you have done and hopefully will do, when you are back in action. So take your time to get well and all ;) For me it doesn't really matter that you couldn't release anything in this time or the future time, I support you because you are an awsome person and an awsome developer. And now that it is May, I can finally support you again, so I don't want my money back 😛 And again get well Notty, we miss you a lot 😊
