Odd you should mention vegetables...
Oh yes, I can't imagine standing behind a ship's wheel for hours without it! It limits the reach a bit, but it's very useful in thunderstorms. Also, you can't dishonor yourself by abandoning the ship in the unfortunate event of it sinking! :)
