*to be honest I just used that title as I wanted an excuse to use that render*
But actually I have been. All of the settings have been remastered and they look glorious compared to what we had before.
Not only that but most of the girls have been re-skinned which took an age. Oh! On that, don't worry. They look exactly the same from mid and long distance (one of the reasons why it took so long was in getting that to match so that it didn't suddenly jar when you saw them) it's just the benefit is in close up where they no longer have a "Barbie" look about them. Given that'll you be seeing a lot of them in close up I wanted that experience to be right for you.
Here, let me show you an example of what I mean.

So skin pores etc. I'm gunning for utter realism for you where I can - and that's beside the better lighting etc.
It might also be useful to give you a couple of examples of the sheer leap in graphical quality I've been making more generally.

It's a world of difference - and I feel I owe you all an apology for the lack of my skills when I started this project. I hadn't realised I was that bad, until I became good (or good-ish) at least.
But you can see why the remaster is so important to me now - and indeed to you for all of these scene improvements flow through into Four and the subsequent chapters too, especially things such as the characters skin details.
Rather than make this an ultra-long post I'll have Becca give you a quick tour around some of the station in a separate post together with another couple with some bonus materials.
Everything is in place now and it's just stacking up the renders as they come off the machine and releasing chapters. Going as fast as I, and the hamster, possibly can.

Thank you.:) I'll be honest, I did start surprising myself at what I started to be able to pull off. One of the reasons it's taken me longer than expected was every time I finished one, I just thought "what if I did a small tweak there?" and made it better still. I swear in some close ups they are starting to get passable for real people.

Although 90% of the narrative is the same (needs a few minor tweaks because of movement changes etc), it feels like a totally different game from what I've tested so far. I'm being careful so that people don't have to replay anything but....I'm almost tempted to suggest they should!

You're too harsh on yourself. Your renders always looked better than 90% of the dreck out there and it was obvious that you put effort into them (again, unlike almost all other projects out there). Still, I like what you're doing with your improved renders. :)

You don't owe us an apology for anything, people naturally get better over time; you however, that's just unnatural how much better you've gotten over the past couple of months! (in a good way) :-)
You absolutely don't owe an apology. If the game looked like Chapter One all the way to the end, I'd be happy with it. What the game will look like with your remaster, I'm ecstatic about! You were always good, you just got a lot better! I hope our support will enable you to get the hamster a friend in a not too distant future to help with all the workload... :)
