new mic sounds great. B)
An Olympia vs a second or third class cruiser would be devastating. The 8"/35 had at least 1000 yards on any gun on a second or third-class protected cruiser. Even some first class cruisers would get hurt by Olympia.

The pilots that I have chatted with on this issue of abort to the left have said that when pulling the stick on an abort with the right hand there is a natural tendency to overcorrect- and that will always be to the left.
Turning left from danger would also serve to swing the stronger 'fighting side' - the right hand - closer to the danger, ready to defend the body and/or fight back. Well, for right-handed people anyway.
