Watch Us Watch | Final Destination 5

It's been many years since I last watched the Final Destination movies, and with a sixth entry on the way I figured it was time for a refresh! That's right, the mack daddy himself Death will be inflicting more pain upon various people and I could not be more excited. Plus, we get one more appearance from Tony Todd! Never expected I might cry during one of these movies...
Derick has randomly only seen the third movie and knows nothing else, and while he is a big horror fan he did reveal to me that he is averse to gore. I assured him this would not be an issue. π

I realised during the last movie (after I'd already seen it three times) that 4 is called The Final Destination because, chronologically, it is.

A video came out yesterday that gives some really interesting insight into the series; it's " Every βFinal Destinationβ Death, Explained by the Producer (All 503)" by Entertainment Weekly. Craig Perry, the producer in question, clearly has a lot of respect for practical effects, and I think it shines in this movie. Some of the things he mentioned about FD5: - When Isaac died on the bridge from the bus falling into the water, that was a 30,000 gallon dunk tank dropping water onto the bus. - 19 days were spent filming six minutes of movie (the premonition scene) because of all the technical details involved. - Olivia's actress, the girl who gets lasik, she did all her own stunts, including the clip holding her eye wide open and everything (minus the actual fall). Such a good movie <3 Now off to see what you two thought of the new one!!

YEAH it's the NY version of the cafe, he was going to Paris to work at the cafe that they were at in FD1! LOVE IT

FUN FACT about one of the reasons why the ending (and the rest of the movie is so fucking good): The restaurant that Sam worked at in this one had the same logo and sign that killed Carter at the end of Final Destination 1. Can't wait for Bloodlines for sure! #ForTony

This rewatch has gotten me hyped up. Derick was the perfect guest to have for these, they were a blast. Fingers crossed that the new one is good

I have no idea how you would execute or incorporate it, but I think a fun sideplot or side character in one of these would be a guy further down the chain of events in the premonition who accepts his fate and decides to use the "it's not my time yet" Death-armor to do some risky crimes to make some fast money to leave his family when he eventually bites it. Robbing people, running drugs, looting banks, knowing he won't get killed until his other friends die first.

I love the Tony todd is death theory for this franchise but what if heβs the one giving everyone the visions?

The reveal that this movie is a prequel to the first one is SO satisfying. I'm very curious how Final Destination: Bloodlines will measure up to it. Or if it'll be good at all.

Becca Butcher was in 4, the guy who is the director for all the Vought movies and shows is in this one. Iβm calling my shot now, Karl Urban is in Bloodlines
