Mecha Sonic Mk 2 so nearly done...
I wish I could say Mecha Sonic Mk 2 here was finished...but I ran out of sealant so I wasn't able to finish the legs, they're painted of course but I dare not move them for risk of scraping the paint off. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a new can of rustoleum tomorrow and have it prop...
Mecha Sonic Mk 2 sculpted parts
With the torso resculpted and the joints put into the arms most of the mods to the base figure are done, I just need to mod the legs, add the printed parts, and paint everything.
Dru the Half Skydragon complete
It took me quite some time to make this one because I had a lot of things to figure out. Plus it's one of those figures that totally hand altered, no 3D prints here, purely resculpting and fabrication with craft foam.
Dru is almost done
All he needs now are his wings, which I'll probably make out of craft foam
Dru WIP
this is a figure that's pretty much entirely hand sculpted with no 3D printed parts. At this point I still need to make the figure's tail and wings.
Mecha Sonic Mk 2 preview
we're doing this guy again! This one is going to be made with a Chaos Sonic, so if anything it might have slightly better articulation than my last one.
Complete Emerl
I hit a slight snafu with one of the knees breaking, but I was able to pull it off with my most accurate Emerl figure ever! Plus the way I built him he still has wrists
limbs in the body
the way Amy's hips are built is pretty much the sole reason why I thought her figure would be the best base for Emerl
Progress on Emerl
Amy Rose is uniquely well suited to make Emerl
Rotor complete
This figure really sucks as a custom base, but it's the only one I know of that shares Rotor's general physique
Rotor WIP
the body is giving me a hard time to paint, but I think the head came out great
all the parts for Emerl
I'm going to need to adjust the hands a bit since even my new printer had a problem with that, but these are the components that will have an Amy Rose turn into Emerl
Emerl preview
yup, my first 4 inch Jakks scale Emerl figure is coming soon, I'll be making him from an Amy figure
Single figure Surge complete
So here's what it looks like when I use only one easy to find Sonic figure to make Surge instead of cutting harder to find and more expensive Amy and Aladdin figures in half and sticking them together. I sacrificed knee articulation to make those pants sadly, but she cost the commissioner WAY l...
One figure Surge nears completion
The mods to the body and head are complete, all that I have to do now is finish the gloves and shoes and we'll see if a Surge made from one figure is as good as the one made from two (for literally HALF the price)
How to make a modern Mighty
So, the face of a 2.5 inch Mighty figure is the same size as 4 inch MODERN Sonic's (hilarious quirk of classic figure proportions and Jakk's choice of scaling.) Plus I'm told the neck peg of a 4 inch Sonic is compatible with this head, so you can make a modern Mighty figure simply by pa...
Some figures can be dismantled more than others
So Aladdin's hair is a separate piece, but look at how weird his head is shaped underneath it!
Albert's Antoine
I think I might actually like JCThornton's model of Antoine's head better, but I think it would look better if it had the fur pattern of the first one I made (which is more comic accurate)
Antoine almost done
All of the parts are done, tomorrow I will give him his legs and we'll have a new Antoine figure, one that combines design details of his SATAM and Archie designs. (If it's hard to tell this time, the fact that he has blonde hair on the back of his head and larger ears are details from the ...
Progress on 1 figure Surge custom
That's right, this is going to be my attempt to make Surge using just one of those peg clogging Sonic figures that comes out in every wave instead of having to hunt down Amy and Aladdin figures to cut in half
First attempt at dying figure parts
So I got some of the Rit Dye synthetic variant to dye a figure's parts so paint scraping won't be such an issue. I think it worked decently well, gray legs are now brown and white arms are now blue, so Antoine should look good even if his paint scrapes a little.
a mockup of Ariem's body
converting a Toadette into Ariem involves making her much taller, and though I was able to make the sleeve things with squashed and tilted cone in tinkercad I extended the dress using an addition and subtraction technique with electrical tape. Now that I have the shape of her dress I can use this t...
My next series of commissions
Alright, here's what we're doing (while I work on Ariem in the background) for my next series of commissions. No particular order of course
Jackie the Cat hi-rez
Here's MSPaint's commission, a fun little cat OC that didn't use any 3D printing.
Ariem's head completed
Here's the head fully assembled, including that ruffle style collar she wears (I feel it would be better as part of the head itself instead of the body) Said ruffle was a shape I made myself in Tinkercad
Jackie's head painted
It's been a while since I mostly repainted Tails' head instead of printing a new one.
Ariem head WIP
I had this Ariem head printed out for a long time and finally got around to painting it, my shade of sky blue is actually a really good match for her color according to my reference.
Doom's Eye for Nick
Complete with a display stand for flight poses we have a Sonic X Shadow Generations scaled Doom's Eye ready.
sculpted parts for Jackie
Another fan character that isn't going to use any printed parts, maybe I should break out the classic theme song for this one.
most of the parts for Ariem
I've been sitting on this 3D printed head and base body for several months now so I decided to finally make the Ariem custom
